Caroline bolted away from Klaus the moment "Let It Go" by Dragonette started blasting out of the speakers. She grabbed Elena and Bonnie who were still chatting with Elijah and Kol, yanking them onto the dance floor. The three girls could feel the judgemental stares from the Mikaelsons' more sophisticated acquaintances but they didn't care. For a moment, they were back in high school getting drunk off their parents' liquor and dancing around in the basement together.

Halfway through the song, Caroline pulled Rebekah in to join them. She felt completely foolish as they twirled around like idiots but she loved the feeling. Kol joined them taking Bonnie's hand as they jumped around together, laughing. Soon they had a crowd going, everyone enjoying the happiness radiating off of the tight-knit group of friends.

Elijah watched his future bride and his heart swelled with pride. Klaus could see now how the pair complemented each other so well and Elena could be the perfect woman for his brother. She would make him happy and Klaus truly wanted his brother to be happy.

Kol took Elena's hands and danced with his future sister-in-law while Bonnie danced around with Rebekah. Caroline attempted to drag Klaus and Elijah into the midst of the crowd but the brother's stayed rooted firmly in place much more content watching than participating in the craziness. Eventually, Caroline managed to persuade Klaus to join her but Elijah shook his head at them before returning his gaze to his lovely fiancee.

"You seem to be feeling better," Bekah commented. Elena turned to her with a slight frown.

"What do you mean?" She quirked her head. Rebekah went to respond when the clinking of a glass pulled them out of their conversation. The music slowed to a stop as the room fell silent. They all searched for the source of the noise until they found her. The bride to be standing in front of their eyes, holding up a glass of champagne. Well, almost.

Elena's heart stopped as she locked eyes with Katherine. Bonnie and Caroline glanced nervously at each other, grasping hands for support. Some of the guests were clueless, excited to hear the future bride give a speech. Others were confused, having just been dancing with her. The rest were filled with dread and anger knowing exactly what destruction stood in front of them.

"Good evening everyone." Katherine smiled, putting on her best impression of Elena. "I wanted to thank you for joining me on a day that my future husband and I will remember and cherish for the rest of our lives."

"What the hell is going on?" Caroline asked Elena. She shook her head knowing whatever it was, wasn't good.

"I wanted to share my gratitude for a few people who made this all possible. First I would like to thank Esther and Mikael for raising such an incredibly wealthy man for me to get hitched to. Secondly, I'd like to thank Elijah for being so gullible. And lastly, I would like to thank Caroline and Bonnie, my oldest friends for being with me every step of the day. I couldn't have done it without you. I just wish it didn't have to end this way but it does. Elijah deserves better than a woman who's only marrying him for his money. They all do." Katherine dropped the mic, the boom as it landed the only sound in the room.

Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie exchanged glances with one thing on all of their minds.

Shit.
