After a failed attempt to seduce a billionaire, Katherine Pierce devises a brilliant scheme for revenge. Elena, Caroline and Bonnie find themselves in way over their heads while they walk the fine line between money and morality.
"Why did we agree to this?" Caroline groaned into her phone as she started unpacking her things.
"Because Elena asked us to, because of the money. At least we get a free vacation." Bonnie shrugged as she sat on Elena's couch.
"Yeah, Chicago's okay but I had to quit my job at the station for this. If her plan fails-"
"She still has to pay us 5 million." Bonnie reminded her.
"Is Elena back from her book thing yet?" Caroline asked as she put away her dishes.
"Nope. Which means the plan is off to a good start."
"How was Kol last night?"
"It was hilarious. As much as I hate to say it this, this is fun. Plus he's gorgeous and I don't know how long I'm going to last without sleeping with him." She gushed.
"Oh my god, Bonnie!" Caroline squealed.
"When are you supposed to meet Klaus?" Bonnie asked just as Elena came through the front door. She waved as Elena kicked off her shoes and plopped down beside her.
"Is that Care?" Bonnie nodded and put the blonde on speaker. "Hey!"
"Hey Lena," Caroline greeted before going back to the question from before. "I'm supposed to go to his gallery opening tonight and casually bump into him. How'd your date go?"
"He's amazing and we talked about everything and it was just so easy. I kissed him and we made plans for tomorrow night." Before either girl had time to react, Elena's front door opened. Katherine stormed into Elena's apartment and glared at them.
"I knew I would find you here. Let me guess, Caroline's on the phone?"

"Hey, Katherine," Caroline grumbled. Even though she was working with Elena's sister, she wasn't her biggest fan.
"We talked about this. If the Mikaelsons find out the three of you are involved in any way, they'll suspect something's up." Katherine scolded the three women.
"There's going to be records of the three of us everywhere. We went to school together for years." Bonnie reminded her.
"I gave you backstories and fake documents for a reason." She groaned, kicking herself for using amateurs.
"Except for me." Elena pointed out. "You told me to be honest with him."
"I'm not dealing with this anymore. Part of our agreement was that you listen to me so goodbye, Caroline. Bonnie out." Katherine hung up the phone and ushered Bonnie out.
Caroline put her phone down frustrated that Katherine was isolating her from her friends. She made her way to the bedroom of the apartment that Katherine had gotten for her. She searched through the closet in awe of the wardrobe that had been left for her. As much as she despised Katherine, she couldn't deny that the woman had good taste. She pulled out a white dress, remembering the notes she had been given on Klaus. Apparently he would be attracted to her innocence. She grabbed her suitcase from the front room and closed it up, sliding it under the bed.
Caroline got dressed and did her hair before finding the ticket Katherine had left for her. She took a cab to the gallery and went in. She wandered the space for a few minutes before zeroing in on a beautiful painting of a snowflake.

"You seem to be quite interested in that painting, Sweetheart." A voice came from behind her and Caroline jumped.
"It's a nice snowflake." She commented simply.
"Is my work really that literal?" He chuckled and Caroline turned to face him. She had seen the pictures of Klaus that Katherine had shown her but, they didn't do him justice. She was in awe of the man before her and suddenly began to doubt the entire plan. There was no way he would be interested in her.
"To be honest, it seems kind of lonely." She confessed.
"I'm going to take that as a compliment." He chuckled stepping closer to her. "Klaus." He offered his hand and she shook it.
"Caroline." She introduced with a bright smile.
"Can I offer you some champagne, Caroline?" She had goosebumps from the way he said her name.
"Champagne from the artist himself? I must be the luckiest girl in the room." She chuckled sarcastically.
"And by far the most beautiful." He smiled grabbed two flutes of champagne, handing one to her.
"That's quite the line. How often does that work?" She scoffed placing the glass on a nearby table.
"Not a line. Just the truth, Love." Caroline rolled her eyes at him. She couldn't help but swoon at his charming accent but she tried to hold it in.
"What about her?" Caroline pointed at a stunning blonde across the room. Klaus chuckled and Caroline looked at him skeptically. He laced his fingers through hers and pulled her toward the girl. "What are you doing?!?" She whisper yelled as he tapped the woman on the shoulder. Caroline plastered a smile on her face as the blonde turned around.
"Nik!" She smiled immediately, throwing her arms around Klaus. Caroline stepped away, wishing she was with Bonnie and Elena.
"I'm glad you're here." He replied. "There's someone I want you to meet." He turned and gestured for Caroline to step forward, ignoring her silent protests. "Rebekah, this is Caroline. Caroline this is Rebekah, my sister." Caroline blushed as Rebekah hugged her, making eye contact with a smirking Klaus over the other blonde's shoulder. Caroline was worried, she had thought his sisters lived far away and hadn't been expecting to meet one. She was hoping this wouldn't screw up the plan.
"Caroline was just telling me how beautiful you are so I thought I should make an introduction." Rebekah pulled away and smiled sympathetically at Caroline.
"I'm flattered, truly but I have a boyfriend. Though if you're interested, I've always wanted to try a third." Klaus cringed as his sister winked at Caroline.
"I see Marcellus hasn't managed to get the harlot out of you after all." Klaus wrapped a protective arm around Caroline.
"Marcel takes me as I am." Rebekah stuck her tongue out. "Speaking of, I should go find him before he finishes off your champagne. It was nice meeting you, Caroline." Rebekah winked at her brother before disappearing into the gallery.
"You are a jerk." Caroline scoffed as she slipped out of his grasp.
"You wound me." He sighed dramatically. "So how about that drink?"
"Goodbye, Klaus." Caroline walked away from him and went outside, hailing a taxi. She noticed him standing outside as she climbed in. Based on the look he was giving her as she drove away, she knew her first task has been successful.
