The Christmas break was amazing and full of glee. My brother and I spent most of our time playing outside, throwing snowballs at each other while my cat Boa was sleeping in my room by the window. We can see her from the courtyard and would wake up from her slumber from time to time when I had thrown the snowball too hard.
I would make him hot cocoa while I drank tea. I never got used to it though. Being allergic to chocolate was horrible.
The happiness didn't last for a long time. It never does. Eli had told me about surprising news that he wasn't happy about. They were getting adopted by a family and no matter how grateful he said he should have felt, he wasn't at all. He grew to love the Orphanage and didn't want to leave us either.
This night, I decided to bring my brother with me when I came to visit Abi and Eli. In the next two days, they will finally be adopted by a family couple who has five children. None of us knew if the kids were adopted as well but we only had one question in mind.
Will we get adopted too? It's not impossible but there's just no telling when. I just hope our adopters will take both of us with them because it would be difficult if I was separated from my brother. He's just five and I'm turning fifteen. We'll never know how to reach each other.
I knocked on the door and held (B/n)'s hand. Just like any kid, he would talk about how he turned into pink when I was at Hogwarts. Their imagination is just unbelievable.
Eli opened the door, wearing a brown sweater and loose pants. His hair was now longer but messy.
"Hello, Eli. How have you been?"
"Didn't sleep." He yawned. My brother ran past him and towards the table with cookies. Almost like he had forgotten that this wasn't his room.
"You should rest early today. It's not good for your health to stay up all night."
"I know, but I just can't sleep."
"Alright, I'll make chamomile tea. It helps, I promise." He made way for me before I made my way straight to the table with a teapot. He closed the door behind him and threw himself on the bed. It looks like he doesn't need the tea. I still made it to help him rest.
"Where's Abi by the way?"
"She's downstairs with her boyfriend. God, I hate it when those two are together." He dragged his hand across his face. I boiled the cold water with magic to make things easier. We had to go downstairs to get warm water if we didn't know magic.
"Those two would just stare at each other like a bunch of lunatics, ready to attack."
"Is it really that bad?" I chuckled. Hopefully, Demetrius and I don't look like that.
"Yes, and it's horrible! I just want to get out of here-" he stopped and quickly say back up. I was startled by his sudden movement and his face was now bright.
