(Dumbledore's pov)

"I hadn't done anything for the future to change" the man who visited told me. He wasn't wrong, I knew what might happen and did nothing about it. This time I'll make sure to not make the same mistake, the boy will recover from his curse with my help.

"Take care of that time turner, you might need it." My other self told me

"Is something else coming that I know not of?" I asked

"I don't know. You'll just have to find out."

"Why did you visit again?"

"I wanted to check if everything was going the way we planned. Wouldn't want to make a mess am I right?"

"Everything is fine. It's just that I notice the potion doesn't last that long."

"That's normal."

"What should I do?"

"Well...the spell must be too much for him." I gave him a confused look and tried to comprehend what he had just told me.

"What do you mean it's too much for him? The effect wore off and he had completely gone back to being the typical Tom Riddle."

"You see, the potion acts like poison-"

"You mean to say I have been poisoning a kid for the past 2 years already?"

"Not exactly but yes. You have been poisoning a kid for the past 2 years."

"Why are you so calm about it then?"

"You didn't understand me correctly. I said not exactly."

"And you also said yes.

He chuckled and took a sip from his tea leaving me to wonder what's in his mind.
"You know what they say. You can't really argue with yourself"

"Just explain so we can get this over with." I sighed. He put down his teacup and started talking.

"He's just a boy. He can't consume that much but just like I told you. We need to. The effect doesn't last that long because the potion is forcing itself out of him. The young man's body can only consume so much."

"Why didn't you tell me this earlier?"

"I thought you would have figured it out."

"What do you mean by forcing itself out of him?"

"Not literally. The excess ones stop functioning. It'll be just like any other substance."

"So it doesn't do any harm?"

"No, it doesn't but by the time he's reached seventeen or...eighteen, the spell will turn permanent."

"Good to know. I can't keep making that potion forever. Good thing I had McGonagall and (L/n)'s help, they had been a handful."

"(L/n)?"

"Yes, (Y/n) (L/n)." He looked confused and thought for a second. Will I be this weird when I grow old? Does he not know who (Y/n) is? "Is something bothering you?" I asked.

"It's just that that (Y/n) (L/n) your speaking of is also a member in the Order Of The Phoenix. I'm not quite sure if we're talking about the same girl."

"Well if she is the same girl, I bet she has made you proud. She's a bright which."

"Yes...she was indeed a bright which. She had a lot of different opportunities ahead of her and yet still she chose to fight alongside us. I treated her like my daughter and everyone loved her." He chuckled
