It was early in the morning when I was helping the orphanage gardener with the plants. the morning breeze was calming and the sun's heat was just right, (B/n) was playing with dirt near the white poppies

"Ms. (Y/n) will you be alright on your own? Im needing to make herbal medicine for Ms.Panama, she needs it at exactly 6:15 am"

I nodded and watched her enter back into the orphanage holding a basket full of herbs. Panama was a 6-year-old girl who has had stomach aches since last year when she was found down an alleyway cold and starving

It was said that if her condition doesn't get better soon, her chance of surviving was impossible. I always wondered why Sir. Albus didn't use magic to help the little girl, but maybe it's not that simple

"I turned around to see my two-year-old brother running towards me"

"Done playing already (B/n)?"
I asked kneeling to hug him. He shook his head and pulled out a white Poppy from behind

"It's for you"
He said with his tiny voice

"It's beautiful darling thank you"
I let him put the flower behind my ear but it fell off once he let go. I put it back and gave him pepper kisses, instead of pushing me away like he used to back then he hugged me and refused to let go

"Can I play with Boa?"
He asked

"Sure but please don't pull her by the tail again, okay?"

He giggled and ran past me to my cat sitting on the porch. The last time he grabbed Boa by the tail he got bitten and I don't want him to get hurt again. While I was cutting the roses I saw movements in the bushes, I slowly approached the unknown creature

"Hello?"
I asked quietly

"I-is he gone?"

"...Who's gone?"

"The h-human, is he gone?"
It told me with its voice shaking
Somehow I realized it was talking about my brother since it was hiding inside the poppy bushes. I turned behind me to check if (B/n) was looking at what I'm doing but he was still petting Boa. I faced the bushes once again and talked

"It's okay, you can come out now"

"Oh, good grief. How can I repay you for risking your life just to check- OH MY GOD!"

"AH!!"
When the snake came out of the bushes and saw me, it instantly screamed in terror, it hurt my ear just a bit causing me to do the same

"It's okay I'm not going to hurt you"
I tried to comfort it

"C-come any closer a-and I'll bite you!"
It threatened me although it wasn't scary at all. I sighed and made it clear to him that I just wanted to help

"Look, I have no idea how you got in here especially when the gardeners always keep pests out, so its either you let me help you or you're dead meat"
I said sternly. It thought for a moment
Then looked up to me. I can sense fear in his eyes and I can tell he doesn't trust me. The snake thought for a while but eventually agreed on letting me carry it out. While walking out of the garden he and I had a little talk
