𝓕𝓸𝓵𝓵𝓸𝔀 𝓜𝔂 𝓛𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 (Tom Riddle X Reader)

"First Year"

When everyone arrived at the castle we all followed a professor that led us to the great hall. This place is enormous! Or maybe I'm just very little. I can't believe I'm going to live in this place for a year, it's not that I have anything against it but I'm just in awe, hold on-
Am I forgetting that magic had something to do with the loss of my family? I'm getting too carried away. And just like that, my mood was completely ruined.

I noticed that there were four long tables inside the hall, they're probably for the houses Tom told me about. There were kids older than us sitting on the benches and chatting, some were reading and some were just simply staring at us, the new pupils of this school. Usually having people stare at me wasn't a problem but why is it making me uncomfortable now?
I looked up to see the night sky with stars and floating candles inside the hall!

The crowd of students stopped in their tracks and listened to an old man named Dippet, technically he was the head of the school. I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying because who likes listening to lectures? No, but honestly this man is babbling about how we don't wanna end up dying in such an early time WAIT, WHAT?
I wasn't listening to what he warned us about, he just said something about dying! Tom was just beside me listening thankfully.

"Hey, Tom what did he warn us about again?"

"You weren't listening?"

I scratched the back of my neck and nodded. He leaned close to me and whispered

"There's a forest just beside the castle, don't go wandering off if you don't wanna die at such a young age"

"What do you think could be in there?"

"I'm not sure, let me think....trolls, Giant spiders, unicorns, centa-"

"Okay okay, I-I get it now!"
I had a huge phobia with spiders and now I find out there's a colony of them beside the school?
Now I had to pay attention. A professor walked towards a chair that was in the middle of everything and introduced us to all the other professors who were sitting beside headmaster Dippet.

"When your name is called please step forward and take a seat. We will be sorting your respective houses immediately."

This is what Tom told me about! I wonder what house I'll end up with. I'm pretty confident that Hufflepuff or Gryffindor will be my house and hopefully I'll get plenty of friends.
The professor took out a scroll and began calling out names

"Ignatius Prewett!"

He then puts a hat on the boy's head like that's gonna do anything.

"Hmm...I see great potential in you.
GRYFFINDOR!"

the hat...it just talked.
I stood there with my mouth wide opened and my eyes popping out of their sockets. That thing is gonna be placed on my head! Okay, calm down it's only gonna take a second. I watch as more students get sorted out and I gotta say this is pretty amazing.

"Abraxas Malfoy!"

"Oh, it's that boy from the train station! The one with the ranch hair!"

I looked around to see if I can find him but to my surprise, he was behind me and shoved me out of the way. Thankfully Tom was there to keep me from falling.

"Thanks"

"Don't mention it"

"What did I ever to do him?"

"I'm pretty sure it's not you. It's your cat"

I snickered and stood back up, I'm so proud of Boa. The hat told him something I couldn't quite make up but what I do know is this terrified the boy.
