Chapter 8

I'm in my tech class right now but I already know all of this because I'm really into computer science. They wouldn't let me take a more advanced class because I'm new which sucks so Im texting Lee to pass the time

"Ms.Davie? Are you paying attention?" Mr. Smith ask me "uhhh yessir" I say knowing I'm lying *tic* "ok then what is a CPU and what does it do?" I roll my eyes and let a huff out

"CPU stands for Central Processing Unit *tic* it's the "brain" of the computer. It's a small, thin piece of silicon attached to the Motherboard. The CPU turns Raw data into usable information....Is that all?" I explain with an unfazed look. He looks shocked as though I wasn't supposed to know that.

"Ok smart cookie if you think you know so much, I have a harder question. What's RAM?" He asked crossing his arms

"What is this intro to computer hardware for 6th graders? RAM *tic* can help the CPU function faster by storing information *tic*in the Short-term in a quick location. The higher your RAM,the more that can be stored" I love talking about stuff like this, but it was just boring.

"What's ROM?" He fired quickly at me with a smile. I think he's impressed

"ROM is the hardware that contains the start up directions when a computer is turned or woken up from sleep." He started to laugh

"Why are you even in this class? Wait! Come come!" He said as he jumped up and down excited bringing me over to his computer. He point to a port "identity this computer port"

"Well that's an Ethernet ummmm RJ45." I said. Looking at all these computer ports, I can tell this is an old computer. "What does it do?"
"Mr. Smith *tic* sir with all due respect why am I doing this?" I asked because I'm standing in front of my class answering all these easy questions while everyone looks confused at what I'm saying. Like it's gibberish

"Just tell me what does it do" i sigh and look him in the eyes. "It's used to connect to internet and intranet networks at high speeds. The green light is called the link light. It blinks when you've connected and the yellow light is the activity light. It blinks while you are doing activities on one of the networks." He shakes his head

"Kid how would you like to be on our tech team? It's obvious this class isn't for you and you need to be challenged. What do you say?" I was surprisingly shocked by his asking. "Could I think about it sir? I *tic* do have
a lot on my plate as it is." He tells me he understands and as I walk back to my seat everyone claps for me. That's embarrassing.

I walk out of class to see Rainlee coming out of her class. Her eyes meet mine and she smiles. "Hey you" she said with a smile as she walks up to me,but before she could Gwen, one of the cheerleaders, comes up to me "Hey Knoxy! I just wanted to say that you explaining all that stuff in class really turned me on. Call me anytime you want. Nice hair btw. It's hot" I stood there frozen. While she put a slip of paper, I'm guess with her number on it, into the waistband of my jeans.

Once Gwen leaves I see Rainlee looking at me. I take the paper out of my pants and rip it up. "No. Don't look at me like that.*tic* I would never do that to you. I *tic*don't want her." I said looking Lee right in those bright blue eyes. She shook her head and hugged me. Then I took my hand in hers. Her hand fits so perfectly in mine.

"What was she talking about? You stood up and explained something?" She asked surprised. She knows I'm really smart but I don't like to bring too much attention to my tics and because I just don't like answering questions.

"Well Mr.Smith caught me texting you so he thought I wasn't *tic* paying attention because I didn't care, but in reality*tic* I already knew all the answers because it was literally computer basics. He asked me all these questions I guess I wasn't supposed to know yet and I answered back easily. Then he asked me if I wanted to join his tech team to be challenged. I told *tic* him I would think about it because of football and everything." I said as we sat down at our lunch table.

"Baby! That's amazing! You should do it" she said practically jumping up and down in her seat. "You think? I mean I'm good with computers, but I don't think I'm that good." She started to rub my thigh and looked into my eyes "Knoxley Davie! You can do this! If I didn't think you were good with computers do you think I would trust you to fix my computer all the time?" I started to laugh

"That's because you'd rather bang on it then to just realize your keyboard lock was on sweetheart." She rolled her eyes at me. "But I wouldn't want anyone else to do it. You make it look so easy"

"That's because it is easy! You just push a button" I said putting our foreheads together as we laugh. "Ok lovebirds break it up. I'm tired of seeing this happy couple." Dax our DL says as he comes to sit down with 3 trays of food "Dax I know it's game day but really 3 trays." I say as I watch him start scarfing it down. "I need the energy" he says with his mouth full

"It's game dayyyyy!!" Rex yells as he comes into the cafeteria and everyone starts clapping.
"Alright boys give me two" he says as we all clap twice "sup lovers" he says and daps me up
"Hey Rex. Have you seen Kenson?" I ask because my brother is the only one not here "yeah he's helping coach" I nod my head and look back at Rainlee before I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and am faced with Gabi

"Yes Gabi do you need something." Lee says sarcastically. "I came over to wish Knoxley luck today. And also because I was wondering if she wanted to come over after the game and...study" She said playing with the collar of my shirt biting her lip flirtatiously "Sorry she has plans. We have a date" Lee says "We do?" Rex hits me in my head and then gives me a look "ohhh yeah w-we have a- *tic* a date" I said trying not to look so clueless. "Yeah right. You can come over once you get bored." She said leaning in. Before I could even comprehend what is happening I'm turned around and Rainlee kisses me she did something with her tongue. That shit was amazing . She then pulls away but I wanted more. I slowly open my eyes.

"Yeah definitely won't be getting bored." I mumble "Hey that's my sister!" Rex says with his hands up. "Shut up Rex" I say as I pull her into me and lean back in. Before I kiss her I turn around and look at Gabi who is red as a tomato with so much anger in her eyes. "You can go now" I said shooing her off.

She then rolled her eyes and got up. "Now where were we?...Do that thing again with your tongue. That was hot." She laughed at me and bit her lip "Dude! Again thats my sister! Gross" I flipped him off and then kissed her again. "Damn Knox got that good stuff" Dax said making the rest of the team all hooting like a whole bunch of barbarians. Which made Lee laugh and smile into the kiss. "Ew she's not even all that" Rex said making me laugh this time "yeah right" I said sarcastically at him as I pull away. "I wasn't done" Rainlee pulls me back in and I melt at her touch
