Although we weren't really speaking to each other I still cared for her. I still sit at the same table but I don't talk to her out of respect for what she said. Even though I try to all the time. When I saw she wasn't eating I went up to her and put half my sandwich in front of her "I wasn't going to finish it anyway. Do you want my *tic* apple?"

She shook her head and took a bite out of the sandwich. I stood there and licked my lips, nervous if she would talk to me

She turned to me "thanks" she whispered softly. I took a gulp "Y-you're welcome"

She stared at me for a little longer "is there something else?"

"Oh I um-" I took a sigh and hung my head

"She'll come to you when she's ready baby girl..." My dads voice rang through my ears

"No, no there*tic* isn't. I'll see you around" I walked back to the very other end of the lunch table to sit down with Robin and my other friends

"Dude, that conversation gave me second hand embarrassment" Robin said taking the apple out of my hand and taking a bite. I huffed and put my head into my hands

Before I could say anything else I felt a hand on my back "Hey there cutie. Heard you were on the market" I looked up to see Gabi and her Wolfpack of cheerleaders

I looked to Rainy to see her looking at me and quickly letting them fall back to her book once she saw me looking at her "Actually" I said taking her hand off my shoulder "I'm not on the market. I have a girlfriend and you know that"

"Then how come she's sitting all the way over there? Trouble in paradise? Or did you get tired of that whore?" What is up and the jerks at this school calling people whores?

"She's not a *tic*whore just*tic* leave me alone" I mumbled and started to play with my rubber band

"Ok well I'll leave you alone" Gabi said walking away.

I heard someone scream and when I looked up it was Rainlee "oops did I do that?" Gabi said with and walked off

I stood up and rushed to her. "Here let me help-"

"I don't need your help! Just leave me alone" she said walking away

"...But at the end of the day you have to fight for what you want" My dad said through my thoughts
"Screw it" I said running after her

"Rainy wait" I said trying to catch up to her

"Leave me alone right now Knoxley" she said

"No! I won't leave you alone. Ok Rainy I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for calling you a bitch because you're anything *tic*but that. You're a gorgeous, kindhearted, funny girl I get to call my girlfriend. *tic* You're the whole deal Rainy! You're not a bitch, I was just a dickhead. I forced things *tic* that I know better than to have done. I didn't mean it. I regretted it *tic* right when I said it. I-I was just too angry to admit I was wrong at the time,but I know now." I looked to her eyes for some kind of empathy or something but I was never able to read Rainy the way I wanted to and I didn't like that

I gently grabbed her hands and stepped closer but she took a step back "I'm not going to hurt you Rainy. I don't *tic* ever want to hurt you, baby. Not mentally or physically. And you have my word on that" I said still looking into her eyes. I felt the most vulnerable to her I've ever felt with anyone other than my family

She was biting on the inside of her cheek which she does when's she's nervous or anxious.
