Chapter 25

Since my parents are still at work, I decided now is a good time to go get a snack without them seeing the damage James did on me.

"Popcorn?" I asked Lee

She nodded so that's what I made for my beautiful girlfriend

As we waited for the popcorn I heard the front door open and I completely froze

"Anybody home?" My dad yelled through the house

If I just keep quiet he won't come to the kitchen

Beep beep beep

Damn microwave

"Oh hey kids" he said rounding the corner

Before I could say anything his eyes met the bruises on my stomach "What happened?" He asked dropping his brief case to get a closer look

"Keni tackled *tic* me too hard*tic*" I said plucking my rubber band

Stop ticking so damn much he's gonna know

My inner voice said. He gave me a look like he didn't believe me at all. Then his face changed

He grabbed a paper towel and wet it before walking over to me "Dad what are you doing?" I asked backing up a little

He grabbed me and started wiping the makeup on my neck away. After a while he stood up and looked at me "I know damn well Kenson Davie did not do that!" He yelled at me "Who the fuck did that Knoxley!?" He was heated and there was no way of cooling him down unless I told him the truth

"Knox?" I heard Keni yell from the front door

"I know your twin knows what's up! Let's ask him!" He said dragging me to the livingroom "Kenson get in here right now!"

A few seconds passed and Keni was standing right there "Who did this to your sister? And don't give me some bullshit answer or your both grounded for a month. No football, no hanging out with friends, and definitely no Rainlee" he said

I gulped and looked at Keni and Lee

"Rainlee I think you should go home for now" he told her before she waved good bye and left

"Now I'm gonna ask nicely one last time. Who did this!" He said

Neither of us answered

He pushed both of us against the wall and got in our face "Want to make it two months. Hard to get back scholarships if you're away for so long! And definitely hard to keep a girlfriend!" He spat

"He *tic* said he would kill me if I *tic*told anyone" I mumbled putting my head down

"Who said that!" He said releasing his arm from our chest

"James" I whispered

His mouth was wide open and he looked shocked

"He choked her dad. Said he would choke her to death in front of Lee if she ever told anyone. You can't tell anyone dad. Just not right now." Kenson begged our dad

"Please *tic* don't tell mom" I said

He looked furious, but his features softened "Fine, but he's not allowed anywhere near this house and you tell me if he beats up on you again. You understand me?" He said cupping my face to look at him

"I understand" I mumbled

He kissed my head and then kissed Keni's

"Does that mean Lee *tic* can come *tic*back over?" I asked him. He chuckled and messed my hair up
