We do not get unlimited chances to have the things we want. And this, I know. Nothing is worse than missing an opportunity that could have changed your life.

Arizona's POV

"Arizona, get up" Callie shouts as she barges into my room.

"Its nearly 7:30" Oh Fuck.

"why didn't you wake me sooner" I say jumping out of bed.

"I've not long got up myself, now hurry" with that she left.

I didnt have time for a shower so i quickly brushed my teeth and got dressed and ran downstairs just as Callie came out the kitchen with my flask and a sandwich. We grabbed our stuff and got in the car.

"I can't believe we both overslept" I say taking a sip of my coffee.

"we must have been super tired" she smirks looking at me. I couldn't help me laugh.

"super tired" I giggle.

"you erm might want to do something about those" Callie says a few minutes later pointing at my neck. I pulled down the sun visor and looked in the little mirror... There was more then yesterday. I looked at Callie and could see a smile plastered on her face.

I got my foundation out of my bag and quickly tried covering them up, but like yesterday they were still sightly visible.

We Pulled into the hospital and headed to the staff room, luckily we had 5 minutes to spare before handover. As usual within minutes we got our first call and we headed straight out. A few hours later we just dropped a patient off and was heading back to the Ambulance when we turned a corner and someone bumped into me.

"oh shit...oh Arizona" I look up and see Carina smiling at me.

"hey" I smile back.

"first day" I ask.

"yeah, bit lost actually" she laughs.

"where you going"

"trying to find CT"

"your close, through that door" I say pointing to the door we just came from.

"then follow the corridor and its on your right"

"ah, thanks"

"Arizona we have to go" Callie says quite sternly. Shit forgot Callie was there.

"Callie, nice to see, how have you been"

"fine thanks, Arizona we have to go" she repeats. I could tell she was not happy.

"catch you later" I say to Carina before walking away.

I had to nearly run to keep up with Callie. I could tell she was pissed.

"Callie wait up" I say as I finally caught up with her. She didn't say anything, just kept walking until we reached the ambulance.

"Callie"

"why didn't you tell me she is working here" She says turning around. She had a mixture of emotions on her face but her eyes looked like she was about to cry.

"I'm sorry, I should have told you but I didn't really have chance did I" She didn't say anything For a few seconds

"I guess" she sighed.

"what does this mean for us" she asks, twiddling her fingers, looking like a shy little school girl.

"what do you mean"

"I mean she's working here now, what if seeing her nearly every day will bring back the feelings or whatever, I mean you were with her the other night"

"Callie" I say as I lift her head up so she was looking at me. I've never seen her so vulnerable.

"that's not going to happen, I love you Callie and I only want you, I know you're still with Erica but I'm going to wait, you don't need to worry about Carina, okay" I smile, trying to reasure her, which seemed to work as a little smile appeared on her face.

"okay"

"I wish I could kiss you" I say

"me too" she replies. Just then the radio went off and we went on our next job, a football injury.

"hello Im Arizona and this is Callie, what have we got" I ask as a gentleman greets us by the ambulance.

" a 14 year old girl, playing football and got tackle, obvious broken left ankle but no other injuries" he informs me as we walk onto the pitch.

"okay thank you"

"are you mum" I say as we approach the girl and a women who was sat next to her.

"yeah"

"I'm Arizona and this is Callie" I say as Callie stops next to me.

"can you tell me what happened"

"she went for the ball and one of the oppositions players slid in and caught her foot"

"okay, thanks"

"hi Im Arizona what's your name"

"Jade"

"Hi Jade this is Callie she is going to give you something for the pain" she just nods.

" is it hurting anywhere else" I ask she shakes her head.

"good, Im just going to examine your foot okay, I'll be careful"

I move to her ankle and could tell straight away it was broken as the bone had broken the skin and the foot was pointing the other way. I got up and walked to her mum who had stepped aside.

" Obviously, her ankle is broken and out of place, we are going to have to straighten her ankle otherwise it wil stop blood from getting to the foot, we are going to give her a drug that is a really strong pain killer, it can make her drowsy and seem out of it, say weird things, and have hallucinations but thats normal. And she will probably scream or shout when we manipulate her foot but she won't feel or remember any of it, is that okay" Her mum just nods clearly worried.

I can hear Callie explaining things to Jade as I walk back. She injected the drug and 20 minutes later her foot was straightened and in a brace and we was heading to the hospital. I was driving, but I could hear Callie and Jade and it warmed my heart. Callie is so good with kids I see it all the time. I can imagine her being a mum, and an amazing one at that.
