May 15th 1988

We had had about a week and a half off, Dom and I stayed at his apartment as it was finals week and I didn't want to get in the way of the girls. His mom dropped us off at the airport in the early afternoon.

"Por favor recuerde no hacer nada tonto, no necesito que me llamen diciendo que la dejó embarazada. (Please remember not to do anything dumb, I don't need you to call me saying you got her pregnant.)" She says.

I furrow my eyebrows, not recognizing all the words. Dom's eyes widen and his face pales slightly.

"¡Mamá! (mom!)" He complains.

She just laughs and we get out of the car, opening the trunk to grab our suitcases. We wave as she drives off and walk into the airport.

"What did she say?" I ask as we stand in line, LaVelle and Jenn a few people ahead of us.

"Oh um how much did you understand?" He asks as he takes his sweatshirt off, still having not told his mom about the tattoo.

"Don't do anything dumb and that she doesn't need you calling her about something but that was it." He nods as we move forward.

"That was pretty much it."

"There was definitely more," I pressed.

"She also said to notgetyoupregnat." He says quickly.

"I didn't catch that last bit." He sighs and turns to face me.

"Don't laugh, she said to not get you pregnant." I nod slowly, processing what he said.

"Oh my god. Oh my god." I repeat myself, my eyes getting wider. "Why would she think that?"

"Probably cause you stayed with me while we were back?"

I look over at him and we start laughing. LaVelle and Jenn wait for us and we all walk to the seats to wait for our flight.

"How was your guys' week off?" Jenn asks as we sit after grabbing food.

"Quiet," I replied for both of us as Dom had just taken a bite of his sandwich. "What about you?"

"Quiet as well, I started playing some Queen songs though so that was exciting."

"Okay you have to teach me. I haven't been able to find sheet music for it anywhere."

"Of course!" I smile as our flight gets called.

"Where's Randy?" I ask as we gather our stuff.

"Here! I'm here!" I hear him yell from behind us. "I slept through my alarm." He explains as we walk onto the plane.

"Randy it's like one in the afternoon." Dom says, pausing and turning to face him. I don't stop in time and run into him.

"Woah," he laughs, taking a small step back to avoid falling.

"Sorry." I apologize, my face heating up.

"For your information," Randy interrupts our moment. "My roommate was very loud last night and I couldn't fall asleep."

Dom and I find our seats and sit, LaVelle and Randy sitting across from us. After the flight took off, I was slowly getting more used to airplanes, Dom and I played games.

"Are you excited to go to Italy?"

"Yeah, I just wish we were going to Genoa, where my mom's from." He nods in thought.

"Do you know where in Italy it is?" I nod and grab the map that the flight attendants had left at every seat.

"Right about here."
