The Effort

After Jerome and James's stunt, the parents and guardians left, tutting. "I didn't think he'd actually do it", Eugene said, "What a dumb fuck". Gabe smiled and nodded in agreement as they made their way back to the fork in the road where they would go their separate ways. "I'd imagine they'll get suspended", Gabe said, "I don't think it's enough to get expelled". Eugene nodded, "But remember, they got suspended last year for that graffiti at the basketball game". "It's going to be a toss-up between the two", Gabe said, "We'll just have to see what happens next". "We know one thing for certain", Eugene began, stopping on his side of the fork, the left, "Pamela owes Jerome twenty bucks". Gabe laughed at this, "If he's in tomorrow he will hunt her down for it". Eugene said goodbye to Gabe and they headed away from each otherMarl. When Gabe got to his room, he sat on his bed and fell asleep. 

Marlon angrily pulled up outside his house and slammed the car door, he was pissed. "How did it go?", Theresa asked, drinking a cup of water in the kitchen. "Two little asshole teens got in and fucked the whole thing up", Marlon said, "They think it's a joke". Faith came out of the living room when she heard that part. "Who were they?", Faith asked, knowing damn right who they were. "I don't know", Marlon said, "But it was a shit show". Theresa nodded, "Well I hope those kids get expelled", Theresa said, exiting the kitchen and going into the living room. "I'm going to bed", Marlon announced, "I'll see you in the morning, goodnight". Faith got her phone out of her back pocket and texted into her friend's group chat, "My dad is pissed!!", she typed in, "Tell me the details later". 

Jerome and James sat in principal Thomas's office. Principal Thomas paced up and down his office, looking at the two teens in their eyes. "You think this is a joke?", he asked, breathing heavily, "You think this is fucking funny?!". James jumped in his seat a little bit when principal Thomas shouted. "We didn't think it would be that big of a deal", Jerome said, "We're sorry". "Four people have lost their lives in this tragedy", Thomas said, "Your little prank has sent more panic into the community. So what shall your punishment be? Expulsion?". Jerome and James started shaking their heads profusely. Principal Thomas shook his head, "Two-week suspension", Principal Thomas said, "During that time you are to write a 5000-word essay regretting your actions. When the two-weeks are up and no essay, you are expelled from Saints Row High". Jerome and James were let go and they both sighed. "The effort", James said, "The effort of writing 5000 words, I'm dropping out".
