As Gabe Chilmuneri walked to school in the cold air, he saw smoke in the sky. He wondered what was going on and took a detour from his route to school and went to investigate. He saw red fire trucks and firemen accompanied by police and ambulances. He stood with the small group that was watching. "What happened?", Gabe asked a woman who had tears in her eyes. "Tragedy, kid", the woman responded, "A tragedy took place". That response did not answer his question, but the woman was clearly upset so he did not press it. He saw stretchers come out of the building with blue body bags atop them. "Oh god", Gabe said, horror on his face. Gabe was sixteen and lived at East-Brick orphanage since he was ten. He looked at the time and knew he had to get a move on if he wanted to get to school in time. Gabe abandoned his morbid curiosity and got back onto the backstreets where Saints Row High School was. The School had been open for fifty years and used to be called the "Third Eye" High School, but people got paranoid so they changed it to the name of the area. Gabe had bright green eyes, spikey black hair and had a pathetic amount of facial hair around his face he proudly called a beard. As Gabe approached the burnt-out school gates, he took a deep breath; Maybe today would be normal. But it was Saints Row, so that would be highly unlikely.
As morning break approached, Gabe watched the clock so he could see his friends. His friends, Pamela, Ross, James, Faith, Jerome, and Eugene were in a different class to him and they came in late as a group so he didn't get a chance to see them in the morning when he came in. He was in Music at the moment and there was a loud argument next door so it was making it hard for Gabe to concentrate. Music was one of the few classes where everyone was calm and no violence occurred. Gabe sighed as he heard the argument escalating, he just turned his headphones up but his phone's volume was on full already. he bell rang just as he thought he would hear screams of agony. Gabe collected his stuff and headed to the cafeteria. He wondered if any of his friends knew what happened to the church.
"Here's he is", the loud Ross said, patting the plastic seat they saved for Gabe. Gabe smiled as he took his seat. "Did you guys hear the argument?", he asked, taking the sandwich he made this morning for his lunch out his school bag. Faith nodded, pushing her dyed green hair out her blue eyes, "I was in there, it was stupid David arguing with Mr Neeson over his test score. Gabe nodded, "I'm guessing he accused David of cheating and he denied it as he got a good score". Faith smiled and nodded. Gabe tapped his foot on the floor, he felt like there was something he wasn't being told. "Do you guys know what happened to the church?", he asked, after taking a bite of his ham sandwich. Ross shook his head, shaking his blonde hair and focusing his green eyes, "I saw it this morning on the bus, weird". Jerome laughed, "It's some black metal shit I'll tell you". "I saw body bags being wheeled out", Gabe said, "I knew it got burned down". James shrugged, "I guess somebody had a problem with god and want to take some people down with it". Gabe shuddered, he hoped the people were asleep when they started to burn to death. "I say the news will provide some information", Pamela said, looking down at her doc martin boots. "Is there something you aren't telling me?", Gabe asked. This triggered Eugene's memory, "Oh yeah", he said, "Faith and Jerome are going out".
