Protector - Montgomery De La Cruz

Chapter 1

"Honestly Kat, did you really think that having a party to celebrate you going away was the best thing to do? We should have just hung out or something together, i know that you like making big statements and going bold but im really going to miss you" Alexandra muttered to her friend as she took a sip of the coke that was in her cup. She didn't like alcohol, infact she didn't like one single thing about the poisonous liquid. The way that it killed people, took over peoples lives and ruined them, or even the burning fire-y feeling that would stay prominent in the back of her throat for a few moments after drinking it

"You will be fine without me Alex, besides you hang out with the boys way more than you hang out with me. I never see you without Monty, Jeff, Justin or Zach walking with you" Kat replies with a laugh and Alex goes to say something but is then cut of by Kat who throws her hands out excitedly and waved a brunette girl over "Hannah! Hannah hey, this is my best friend Alex"

Hannah looked anxious and Alex could tell she wasn't used to being around so many people and Alex instantly knew how she felt and gave the girl a warm smile and then stuck her hand and gave the pretty girl a small wave and Hannah could tell that she was feeling just as she was "hey I'm Hannah, Hannnah Baker" she said and waved back

"Well ladies, lets get downstairs, the boys will be here any minute" Kat calls excitedly, obviously already past the Tipsy stage. Kat grabbed onto both of the girls by their wrists and then began to tug them down the stairs of the house then she noticed clay Jensen walking into the house, also obviously not in his usual element.

"Oh look there's Clay!" Kat said and began to tug the girls over to him but Alex made eye contact with Montgomery De La Cruz

"Hey Kat, ill be back in a minute okay, I wanna go say high to Monty" She told her and then waved to Clay quickly "hey Clay its good to see you" he said it back and she quickly walked off over to her boyfriend.

Montgomery de La Cruz was quick to stop his conversation as soon as he saw his girlfriend making her way over to him, a wide smile spreading over his lips like marmalade. "Hey bub" Montgomery said with a wide grin as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her into his side, placing a delicate kiss on the top of her head

"Hey Mon" she replied with a grin and stood up on her tippy toes to give him a kiss on the cheek. Montgomery couldn't help but grin down at the girl under his arm, thanking the universe while asking it how he had managed to get so lucky.

"Oh hey Miron" she said to the boy who Monty had been talking to previously, he was tall and on the football team. He gave Alexandra a smile and politely nodded his head down at her, making sure not to stare at her for too long, not wanting to get Monty pissed off.

"Hey Alex, how ya been?" He asked her with a smile. Montgomery moved his arm down to her waist, his hand massaging small circles into her hip as he held her close to his body, the smile not leaving his face

"Pretty good, sucks about Kat tho, I'm gonna miss her" Alex said, a small frown creeping up onto her lips as she was once again reminded about the fact that one of her best friends whom she had known practically her whole life was going to be leaving her.

"Yeah, we're all gonna miss her" Miron said and Montgomery nodded his head, not actually really caring about the fact that Kat was leaving, if anything, he saw it as a relief, he wasn't a fan of the girl who was constantly telling Alex that she should break up with him

Alex went to say something but then she noticed Bryce Walker walk up to Hannah and Clay. The girl felt her blood go hot and even though she had no actual reason too, she felt a strong erge to go over there and protect Hannah Baker. Bryce and Alex had been friends, for years but there was just always something about him that gave her the creeps.
