The ride home from school had been eerily silent, broken only by the low hum of the radio playing softly in the background. Alex had tried to defuse the tension by putting on songs that she specifically knew that Monty had liked, but she kept quiet just incase he was still angry from the fight that had broken out earlier

Monty's car pulled away from the school parking lot, his knuckles white from gripping the steering wheel. Alex stared out of the window, her gaze distant and contemplative, as they left the school premises behind.

After a long period of uncomfortable silence, Monty finally spoke, his voice heavy with regret. "Alex, about what happened back there..."

She turned to him, her eyes reflecting a mixture of concern and curiosity. "Monty, are you okay?"

He sighed, his shoulders slumping. "I'm fine, babe. It's just... I lost my temper, and I got into a fight with those guys. Foley was fucking starting shit with Bryce and then a bunch of the other guys jumped in so I jumped in..."

Alexandra's concern deepened, and she reached out to gently touch Monty's arm. "Are you hurt?"

Monty shook his head, but his eyes were clouded with frustration. "Nah nothing to bad im just pissed because I told you that I was going to do better, that I was going to be better for you. I try so hard to keep my temper in check but I swear something happens and all I see is red."

Alexandra felt a wave of relief knowing Monty was unharmed, but she understood the gravity of the situation. "Monty, it's okay. We all have bad days."

He glanced at her, his expression torn between guilt and gratitude. "I know, but I should have handled it differently."

As they approached Monet's, Monty found a parking spot and turned off the engine. They remained in the car for a moment, the tension between them slowly easing as they shared a moment of mutual understanding.

Alexandra reached for his hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. "Monty, we all make mistakes. What matters is how we learn from them. I know that you're trying to be better, I see how hard you try and I'm so proud of you. I'm gonna stay by your side, we will get through all of this."

He managed a faint smile, appreciating her unwavering support. "You always know what to say."

Together, they exited the car and entered Monet's, finding a quiet corner booth. They ordered their favorite drinks, and as the aroma of coffee surrounded them, the weight of the day began to lift.

Monty leaned back in his seat, exhaustion etched across his features. "I'm just lucky to have you, Lex."

She smiled warmly, her affection for him evident. "We're lucky to have each other, Monty." Monty watched silently as Alex took small sips of her drink, a smile tugging on his lips as he looked at her in awe. He couldn't understand how she could make the simplest things look so cute.

After a while, Monty broke the silence once more, his voice quieter, more vulnerable. "Alex, I don't want this... us, to be affected by my anger issues."

Alexandra took a thoughtful sip of her coffee before responding. "Monty, I love you for who you are, flaws and all. We can work through this together."

Monty nodded appreciatively, his dark eyes softening. "You're amazing, you know that?"

A faint blush crept onto Alex's cheeks as she chuckled. "of course I know that," she joked softly

Monty reached across the table to take Alex's hand in his, "Seriously though. Thank you,Lex. For being patient with me."
