"where are my sweatpants?" dayoung cried out in distress as she racked through her pile of clothes in her room. "come on, come on," she groaned out, clinging onto a pair of dirty pants.
she looked at her digital clock on her nightstand that read 8:46 a.m.
"shit," she mumbled under her breathe. "shit, shit, shit," she repeated out in a hurry. "my classes are almost starting."
grabbing onto another pair of sweatpants, dayoung rushed through the cozy material of the sweatpants before grabbing her backpack and her phone.
she was in a rush that she didn't even realize her phone was blaring up with notifications.
cascading down the stairs of her mom's house, dayoung latched her hands onto her keys that hung near the door.
"come eat!" she heard her mom shout out.
"i'm going to be late for my classes!" dayoung shouted back as she put on her nike air forces. "i have dance practice after class so don't expect me to come home early," she warned out.
dayoung grasped onto the door handle, ready to meet the cold, crispy winter air only to stop at the sound of slippers hitting the wooden floor.
"here, i packed you some lunch for later," ahnjong, her mom, said as she shyly put out the bento box she prepared for her daughter. "it's not much, but i hope it makes your day better since i wasn't able to be there for you for these past few years," she quietly mumbled out.
lips tugging into a soft smile and head looking down at the bento box, dayoung delicately grabbed it as if it were a fragile glass artwork ready to shatter. she recognized the same hello kitty patterns that were displayed and sprawled across the bento box, feeling nostalgic at the familiar yet unfamiliar patterns that were apart of her childhood.
"you still kept this..." she softly let out.
"yeah," ahnjong subtly smiled out. "now hurry up and go, you said you were late!" she lectured out.
jumping in surprise at her mom's loud voice and at the time, dayoung quickly waved at her mom. "i'm going to be home a little late because of dance practice," she repeated out, making sure her mom would remember.
nodding her head, ahnjong shooed her away. "i got it, now go!" she hurried out.
laughing in a melodious voice, dayoung headed to her car.
stumbling down the cascade of stairs, hyeri stood next to her mom in a daze with her hair messy and eye booger creasing near her eyes. "is dayoung leaving for university?" she asked her mom as she scanned the driveway.
"yeah, now why don't you hurry and get ready for school," ahnjong patted hyeri's shoulders . "i made you a bento box for you to take for lunch," she said before going into the kitchen to clean up her mess.
