"i don't fucking care about you and your little boyfriend," dayoung seethed out, a bitter taste on her tongue. "he's a womanizer anyways so you'll see yourself in the trash too along with the other girls he played."
"keep saying shit, doofus-,"
"you sure about that?" haesoo asked cockily, interrupting heachan. "i'm sure i'm going to be sticking way longer than those other girls."
"doesn't make you any different from them though," dayoung snickered out. "you'll eventually end up with them, you just stay longer to decay slower."
"but are you any special?"
"again, i don't fucking care if i am or not. the right people will find me special," dayoung mentally face palmed.
"reminds me of that time in high school, do you remember?" haesoo mockingly said. "was it when we were 16? or was it 17?"
dayoung glared at haesoo, anger swirling in her as she clenched her fists so hard, it turned to a sickeningly pale color. all of the memories resurfacing, from the betrayal to the loneliness. how grateful was she for minjoon who was the only one who stook around.
"i don't remember, do you?" dayoung sarcastically remarked with a roll of her eyes.
"it was your dad wasn't it..." haesoo trailed off with a smirk plastered on her face. "what did he do again?" she began to tap her chin as if she was thinking hard.
with blood shot eyes, dayoung narrowed her eyes at haesoo, fury gradually taking over her. her body slightly shook, with fear and anger churning in her system. she didn't know how much longer she could take it.
"oh! i remember he-," haesoo started.
but a nervous laugh erupted amidst of the painful tension in the room, and along with it were foot steps thumping on the wood floor. with a nervous look, minjoon started to step forward to dayoung's frame by the door and comfortingly, she rubbed her back in attempts to calm her down.
"haesoo, um, i think you should stop with it," she indicated with a nod that was directed to where the dreamies were. "that's enough for today, let it go."
a smug expression was worn on haesoo's face, feeling as if she won while she crossed her arms with her head cocked to the side mockingly.
"now, you, dayoung. let it go too, and go get some food for us like i said," she sighed. "maybe some food will calm you down like it always did," she said with a warm smile on her lips.
with a roll of her eyes, dayoung submissively nodded. "she's not worth it anyways," she said lowly.
"that's the attitude now," minjoon proudly said, an even bigger smile gracing on her.
"um, i'll go with dayoung too," mark squeaked out awkwardly with his hand rubbing the nape of his neck. "i just need to go get some things too, so yeah..." he trailed off.
"that's fine with me," dayoung shurgged. "come on, everyone is starving," she said with a small laugh as she outreached her arms towards the door.
hasily getting up from the floor, mark grabbed his jacket and his wallet as he followed dayoung who was already out of the door, waiting for him.
and with the loud shut of the door, they were out.
they walked out of the lobby and into the sunshine that shown down on them.
breathing a ball of air, dayoung started to kick her feet against the rocks that were on the cement floor.
following her blow of air was a big smoke caused from the chilling, cold weather.
mark awkwardly cleared his throat as he glanced at her, not knowing what to say.
"um... i'm sorry about haesoo earlier. she's way nicer than she really is, i guess she was just jealous," he nervously laughed.
he was scared about what he was saying, remembering the events of earlier of the girl who shook out of anger.
shaking her head, dayoung sarcastically laughed as her response. "you don't get it, it's more complicated than that."
"but i promise, haesoo is much nicer than she displayed herself today in front of you. just give it a chance..." he trailed off. "you guys know each other from high school right? it shouldn't be a problem," he nonchalantly said with a shrugged.
dayoung sighed. "like i said, it's more complicated than that. how i view her is different than how you view her," she bitterly said, her face looking at the afternoon sky that was turning dark.
"okay..." mark dragged out. "sorry, it's just that haesoo is too innocent to be harmed. she's like a younger sister despite knowing her for a small amount of time."
"yeah, it's okay. i understand," dayoung nodded.
mark hummed out, satisfied that the air had cool down and that he can finally breath.
"what was all of that in the dance room though?" mark peered at dayoung curiously. "you know, with haesoo and haechan."
dayoung snickered, thinking of haechan already brought her back to when she first met him.
"oh haechan," she said with amusement pooling into her eyes. with a shrug, she continued saying, "i met him like last week."
mark's brows shot up, his full attention on her as his curiosity grew.
"i helped him run away from his so called fans," dayoung scowled. "and naturally, we never got along as you saw back there," she slightly laughed.
"it's okay," mark laughed too. "he's usually like that, i just never saw him that aggressive with anyone before."
"either way, he gets on my nerves just like how i get on his nerves," dayoung smiled in triumph.
humming out in acknowledgement, mark turned towards her in a stop.
besides them was the restaurant where they'll order the chicken, the smell of oil radiating off of the building.
the sun on dayoung's face and the sun on mark's back, both seemingly too occupied with themselves.
"just like how i said with haesoo, haechan is much nicer and a big baby once you get to know him better. he will be loyal to you and be much more than what you see him as, so just give it time and you'll see it," he smiled out before entering the building.
and unknowingly, dayoung caught herself believing everything mark said about haechan.
because only this time did it seemed more truthful than a lie.
