This is the ninth chapter hope you enjoy it.

Sunrise, the next morning...

Ryan felt something touch his body, which slightly roused him up from sleep. He then felt another nudge, this one a bit more powerful, making him open his, to see the silhouette of a man. The lamp on the table on the beds left side then came on, revealing Martin, wearing jeans and a white shirt. "Morning, Ryan. It's time." He said, as Ryan then got up and put on a black shirt with black trousers with a white stripe down the side. Once dressed, Martin leg him through the hallway and then up to a door he hadn't used in years. Unlocking it with a key, he led them up to top of the roof, where they was a large skylight, the rising sun visible through it. Martin opened the skylight up, moving his head through to gap to see the world outside. Ryan poked his head up besides him, on his left. "Master, what are doing here?" Ryan asked, having started calling Martin "Master", since he was his teacher. Martin accepted it. "Look, Ryan. What do you see?" Martin asked him, staring at the light of the rising sun shine of nearby Bath and the surrounding countryside. "Uh... I see Bath , and... woodlands." Ryan answered, though confused. "Clear your mind, Ryan. Look closer. Everything the light touches is our home. Our country. Our planet. Everything you love. Daniel intends to destroy all these. Only a hero can stop him. But a hero's time rises and falls like the sun. The sun has set on me, and his rising with you as the new mantle of Lion Man. All this will be yours to protect." Martin explained wisely. Ryan cleared his mind, and saw the birds flying around, heard cars driving, birds twittering, the early morning sounds of man and nature. "Man. That's a good speech." Ryan complimented, as he stared at Martin. "I always had a way with words. But like a said, it is a great responsibility, being a hero. It's not always about what power you have, but also how much courage you have. Difficult, key decisions will have to be made, but they can lead to victory." Martin added.

A few hours later, Ryan went through town to the flat where Jessica and Hannah currently lived, being careful when around people, as he believe his mother had reported him to the Police. He knocked on the door and Jessica opened the door, wearing a dark blue shirt and black trousers. "Hi, Ryan. Wasn't expecting to see you here." She said, surprised. "Sorry for dropping in, but I'm going somewhere and I want you to go with me, to Keep me company." Ryan explained. Jessica then walked away, but left the door open, and a minute later, came out with Nike trainers on. "Mum says I can come." She said, as she closed the door behind her. "Good, Jess. Er, can I call you that?" Ryan asked, looking slightly nervous. "Yeah, sure. I don't mind." Jess answered. Ryan led them to a woods on the outskirts of town, and they spent a while walking along the trails that filled the hills. Then Ryan heard footsteps and voices coming from a clearing up the top of the hill they were climbing. Believing it best to take a look, Ryan climbed up the rest of the slope as quietly as possible. Looking at the clearing, his eyes widened. There were several men in plain clothes with a lot of boxes, talking to two other men, opening one of these boxes in their faces and one of the men nodded. They were crooks, making a trade! Ryan ran down the slope to where Jessica stood. "Well, what?" She asked. "Their criminals. And their doing a deal, a trade!" Ryan said, as he took something out of his right trouser pocket. Jess looked at it to see an orange Lion serum vial. "Ryan, don't do anything stupid." She advised, grabbing Ryan's forearms with both hands. "You know what'll happen if I take these crooks down? It'll mean I'm ready." Ryan said, eagerly, as he moved his forearms of out Jess's hands and then ran up the slope. He came up to the clearing and ran towards the criminals.

As they were still talking to each other, Ryan cleared his threat, which made them look at him. Oh, hello, young man. What are you doing out here? The tallest man asked. "I'm here because of you. Do you know what your doing is wrong?" Ryan asked bravely. Ha! You hear that Joesph? A kid asking us about things he doesn't even know." The skinny, brown haired first buyer said. "Shut it, Pete. I do the talking." The tall one, Jospeh shot back. Ryan looked towards the open box on the ground and saw balls of white in it. "White balls? Drugs! Just as I suspected. Their smugglers!" Ryan thought in his head. "You do know smuggling drugs is illegal, right? He asked them. This made Jospeh scoff. "Only if you get caught. I've been doing this for years and I've never been arrested. Especially after all the other things I've been doing." He said, chuckling. "Well then that's about to change. Because I'M gonna stop you!" Ryan declared as he showed them the vial and took off the top. Seeing this made the crooks laugh. "Go ahead! Drink that! Like a little orange juice is gonna get us arrested." Pete scoff, but their laughter died out when they saw Ryan transform and extended his claws. Eyes widening, they pulled out their guns and then shot several bullets at Ryan. He grimaced from the impacts, yet didn't fall. After a few seconds, the bullets then dropped from his body onto the ground, the wounds healing up, but there were now holes in his shirt. "What the hell?" They second buyer said in shock. Ryan then tried to roar at them, but what came out sounded like a mouse squeak. Martin had told him that he could only roar when he'd proved his worthiness. The squeak made some of the crooks snicker before they heard another roar, this one more louder and menacing than his Ryan's, as well as sounding like an actual roar. They looked behind them and saw a Lion figure with claws extended from his hands.

It was Martin, in Lion form. The first time in years! They men then turned their guns on him, but he swished his claws at the nearest on his right, cutting the barrel of his gun off. He then turned left and did the same against the second buyer's gun, before running througth the middle of the crooks, getting in front of Ryan, holding his clawed hands out with his arms outstretched, breathing heavily though. "What are you waiting for? Finish them!" Ryan said eagerly. Martin turned his head right to face him. "Silence!" He growled but panted, the tone of his voice make Ryan shut up after hearing it. He turn back to face the crooks, who then dropped their guns and began running towards the other side of the clearing. Ryan then ran past Martin and after the men. "Where are you going? Get back here!" Martin ordered sternly. "I'm just chasing them to the edge of the woods! I wanna scare them off! Ryan shouted back as he chased them.

He followed them through the clearing, back into the trees, down the hill, seeing the edge of the words below at the bottom of it. He was running towards a crook when he saw a shadow above in between the crook and him. He then heard something, looked to his left and saw something flying among the trees towards the men below. As the object collided with one of the men, Ryan saw it was the figure of a man, and Ryan ducked behind a wide tree, with his back against it. He looked slightly out by moving his head a little bit behind the tree and saw the man was black, wearing a strange device on his back. And Ryan then realised it was the Avenger Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon! He moved his head back and stayed as quietly as possible, hearing the sounds of gunshots and the criminals screaming.  Then suddenly, silence. He still stayed quiet, that is, until he felt the muzzle of a gun touching the left side of his head. He looked left with his eyes to see Wilson looking at him. "Don't think I didn't see you duck behind a tree." He said coldly, stepping a few steps back from Ryan. Ryan still looked at him, holding his hands and opened up his mouth slightly. "First of all, I'm a big fan. Secondly, I'm not one of them. I was just scareing them out of the woods, before you jumped in to finish them." Ryan said, nervously. "Appreciate the scareing. Now take that mask off and come with me." Wilson replied, his voice not really full of gratitude. "Hey. Woah! Like I said, I'm not with them. And... this ain't a mask." Ryan said, offended. "Well, then you are one big cat. Better go back to the zoo, then..." Wilson scoffed, before looking right, Ryan looking left also to see the crooks were running away again.

Wilson groaned before punching Ryan in the face, before tackling him to the ground (on his back). He was about to punch Ryan in the face with his right hand, but Ryan stopped the punch with his right hand. He then bend his left arm upwards and above his chest, showing his fisted hand in front of Wilson's face. "I didn't want to have to do this." He said, before extending his claws, Wilson's mouth and eyes behind his red goggles widening. Using his enhanced strength, Ryan then pushed Wilson off his body, to the left, making the Avenger fall on HIS back. After getting up on his feet, while holding Wilson down with his right hand, he then rolled him round onto his stomach. Ryan then sliced his claws each in an a line down Wilson's jet/wing pack, sparks flying around as the claws cut the metal. "Come on! I just had this fixed!" He cried. "Yeah? Well, you're gonna need to fix it again." Ryan smirked, before using both arms to throw Wilson in the air, before he landed in the bushes, rolling down the hill. Ryan took advantage of this to run back up the hill as fast as he could. Reaching the top, he ran back through the clearing back to where he started, seeing Martin in human form, sitting with his back against a tree, breathing heavily, and looking exhausted, with Jess kneeling in front of him. They both looked to see Ryan running towards them, each with a stern/angry look. Stopping, Ryan signed as he pointed his head down , feeling guilty, as he took out a red vial from his left trouser pocket, drank it, and transformed.

And that's the ninth chapter, and the longest I've done so far! Wow! Hope you enjoyed it. So Ryan's in trouble (for doing something very stupid). Will he come out lightly? You'll see in the next chapter. So, Sam Wilson, The Falcon, has made an appearance! This will have seriums effects on Ryan and his career in the future. Until then, wait and see.
