Story of Lion Man

Chapter 35

This is the thirty-fifth chapter, and I have to say it is getting close to the end. Hope you enjoy it.

The yelling the started, and in less than a second later, the charging began. Ryan ran close to the front along with all the other heros. How that alien army got there, he would ask later. Right now, he would fight, as something inside him told him this was a fight that would determine everything they'd done. They kept running and running, Ryan doing a quick roar, and upon striking the alien army, the real fighting began. Ryan swung his rigth claws against the first alien he came into contact with, slicing his head off, the rest of its body going down on the ground. Turning slightly leftwards, moments later he did the same with his left claws against another alien. Turning forwards again, he had just enough time for his eyes and mind to process the sight of another alien surging  towards him before it jumped at him to strike. Right before its jaws impacted Ryans furry head, he stabbed it in what he thought was its chest with both claws. The alien struggled for a second or two, before its body became motionless. So he removed his now blood covered claws from its body, letting it fall on the ground, before running back into action.

For the next few minutes, he continued stabbing or swishing his laws as aliens, not bothering at all to count them. His narrow eyes slowly widened when he saw something that made his adrenaline filled body turn to happiness. It was Jess! In Lion Form, and wearing her suit, she was swishing and slashing her claws at an alien, before moving to swiftly deal with the one behind it. She turned rightwards with a ferocious look on her face, which changed to one of joy upon the sight of Ryan, whom was beginning to smile. He then ran over to her, no aliens blocking his path, only stopping when he was right in front of her. "Your back!" "Your awake!" They both said at the same time, after which they both chuckled in embarrassment. Ryan could tell that under her fur, Jess was blushing. They then hugged each other, which lasted for a few seconds before they parted. "Uh, uh,... duty calls." Jess said, obviously making an excuse. "Why isn't Kaiden here?" Ryan asked, in an attempt to get her to stay. "He swore he'd never touch the Lion Serum ever again. Besides, he's not much of a fighter. When I called him when he came back, to ask where he was, he told me where you were. Said you missed me." Jess answered. Ryan then decided, though it wasn't the right time or moment to just blurt something out. "Nakupenda." Ryan spoke in Swahili. "Enough of the langueages, Ryan. And what does that mean?" Jess rolled her eyes. "I love you." Ryan answered, making eye contact, the both of them oblivious to the massive battle taking place around them. Jess stood still for a moment, before Ryan then touched her lips with his lips and they kissed. The kiss lasted for only a few seconds, before they moved their lips away from each other. 

They stared into each other's eyes for a moment, before they then turned back to back, as if reading each other's minds. They both then started killing any aliens that came up to them. This continued for a few minutes, before the sounds of a lot of explosions filled their ears, and when they both turned to look, suddenly an explosion happened right behind them and blew them off their feet. They both fell on the ground on their stomachs with a grunt and when Ryan (whose face and suit were dusted from the fall) looked around, he saw multiple explosions happening around them every second, and so he looked up and saw the explosions were being caused by light blue blasts that were being fired by the alien ship above them. The explosions intensified, so much that the sounds filled their ears, nothing else being heard, and when Ryan looked at Jess's face, her suit and face also covered in dust, it was clear they both feared the same thing: that a blast might hit them and kill them both in second. The endless explosions going on around them, Ryan then grasped Jess's left hand with his right hand, the two then closing their eyes in fear. Then, a second or two later, they noticed something: the explosions had stopped. They both opened their eyes and looked up at the ship, seeing its guns were now shooting up into the sky, and they both got back up on their feet. Ryan turned his head to face Jess, who also turned to look at him, and they both shrugged in confusion, before looking back at the ship. 

They then saw a strange burning glowing thing head straight towards the ship, collide with it, then fly straight through it, then through its bottom left wing. Whatever it was then flew back into the ship and came out through the top, the ship now doing down and impacted the water. It was then that Ryan and Jess then what had destroyed the ship was a woman. After that, around them the fighting started up again. This strange feeling suddenly going around in her gut, Jess looked around before she faced Ryan. "I'll be back. I think there's something I have to do." She spoke, before then began running from him. "Good luck!" Ryan cried back as he extended his claws, before going back into battle. Jess went forwards towards the glowing woman who'd destroyed the ship, saw her holding a glove like thing with glowing objects attached to it, then noticed the large amount of aliens charging towards her. She also then saw several other women heros head towards her. "Don't worry." She heard one of them say. "She's got help." Another one said, as she ran past a white winged horse and it's mounted rider, stopped besides the glowing woman and woman with black hair and little antenna things sticking out of her head. They they coming up to whom she recognised as Wanda Maximoff, and extended her small claws, her eyes narrowing as she did a soft growl, as she and the other woman started walking towards the aliens. The walk quickly turned into a run,  and pretty soon they were all engaging. Jess ran up towards the first advancing green alien soldier, (which she recognised as a Chitauri, remembering them from the Battle of New York in 2012) in front of her, which raised its gun which caused her to turn sharply to the right, out of its way, roared as she swished her right hand claws in a leftwards direction, then she moved her left hand claws rightwards, the slashes cutting a near perfect X on the alien's chest, which made its body fall down. She kept on fighting for the next few minutes, and she was about to stab her left hand claws in another Chitauri soldiers face. Just before, her claws impacted the Chitauri's body suddenly turned to dust, her claws going through it.

"Huh?" She asked in confusion, raising an eyebrow, before she turned around and saw all the remaining alien soldiers, were all turning to dust, even the wreaked ship. Her mouth gaped open  as she watched, before Ryan then ran up to her. "Wh-wh-what the hell is happening here?" She asked. "We just won, that's what!" Ryan said loudly, before they then hugged again. Looking over in the distance, she then spotted something that made her eyes widen. "Ryan, look." She said, before Ryan got out of the hug, which made her point her right index finger where she was staring, so he turned around and looked in the direction. And when he did, his and mouth gaped open. In the distance, Stark was lying on the ground, his right hand side covered in burns, several of his friends gathering around. With Jess on his right, Ryan then started walking towards the scene, Jess walking right besides the others, Ryan noticing he had the Infinity Stones on his right hand. They stopped among them, as it was obvious what had happened: Tony Stark, Iron Man, was now dead. He had sacrificed himself to help save the world, and maybe even the universe. He looked around at the others and saw that they were bowing one by one. So he tapped his right against Jess, who took at him, and he gestured for them to bow by doing a quick tilt of his head before he bowed on his feet. Jess got the message and a second later she too bowed, bowed in mourn and respect for their fallen saviour.
