alivianewman For those who don't know, Chandler, AZ is my hometown, born and raised. Today, the Newsies tour performed at ASU Gammage, which is a theatre about 20 minutes from the house I grew up in. To this day, I vividly remember watching Legally Blonde in September 2009 when it toured the US. Watching Legally Blonde kindled my love for musical theatre, a love that I still carry with me and only gets stronger the more I perform. From that moment I knew that performing like that was what I wanted to do with my life, and nearly five years later, I'm doing it. My performance tonight goes out to anyone sitting in that audience like me, a young, hopeful dreamer with a passion that lies in the performing arts. Thirteen-year-old Alivia never thought she'd be able to do something like that, and here I am. I'd be lying if I said any part of this process has been easy. It's a struggle every day to give my performance everything I've got and work to improve every day, but this has been something I've been working towards for so long, and knowing I've done it makes everything a little easier. To any dreamers sitting in the audience tonight, or tomorrow, or even reading this post: You've got this, and I'm rooting for you.

but now I am on summer break so I can finally finish this story
also I know that when newsies went to AZ during the first half of their tour they didn't perform at ASU Gammage but I don't care
I'm from Arizona and the ASU Gammage theatre holds a very special place in my heart so let me be sentimental ok
