Alivia's POV

A month and a half came and went. The tour left Connecticut for Pennsylvania, then to Ohio and Kentucky back to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, where we were now.

I woke up to my phone buzzing on my hotel nightstand.

Waterboy

Good morning sleeping beauty

you think I'm pretty?

I never said that

Wanna get breakfast

There's an ihop like 4
minutes from here

why are you asking me

No one else is awake and
eating alone is sad

Please don't make me
go alone the boys will
never let me live it down

ah yes because they
will let you live down
going on a breakfast
date with me

It doesn't have to be
a date

Unless you want be to
be sad

Do you want me to pick
you up

I say "pick you up" like you

considering I don't have
a rental car atm yes

my room number is 254

Who's your roommate

don't have one

Alright

I stood, making my bed before getting ready to meet Sky.

The weather wasn't terrible for Pennsylvania November, but I am not from the East Coast. I settled for ripped skinny jeans and a black t-shirt with flannel over it. I brushed my hair out and styled it into two dutch braids going down my back. I wasn't much for makeup, but I filled in my brows and put on black mascara and a little clear lip gloss. I had just finished putting a few things in my purse when Sky knocked on my hotel room door

"Why are you wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt?" Sky asked. "It's literally November."

"Late November," I shot back, "And this Arizona girl is not prepared for East Coast weather yet."

"You're from Arizona?"

"Mesa, born and raised." I glanced over at him, and seeing how intrigued he was, I continued. "I've already filed time off later this month to visit, and this leg of the tour hits Tempe in April. Other than that, though, I don't know when I'll go back, if ever."

"What do you mean, 'if ever?'"

"Well," I paused to get into the passenger seat of his rental car. "Most of Arizona is the kind of place where everyone says they're going to leave for something bigger and never look back, but few actually leave for good. I'm honestly one of the luckier ones." Sky started the car. "Buckle your seatbelt," I told him.
