Chapter 26: The envelope

Unpacking their stuffs after arriving to their respective room, Irene is moving but her mind isn't functioning well. She don't want to leave especially when she's not yet having the chance to talk to Lisa but Seulgi insisted on taking a mission so Irene will be away from the Thai for a while.

"Joy and I will scout, just rest for now and we'll give infos tomorrow before doing the mission." Seulgi said after putting her dagger and guns in a strap attached to her body. "Unnie." She called when Irene didn't look at her. "Rest okay?" She said and Irene just nod her head before continuing to unpack. "Yeri, stay with her." And with that, Seulgi and Joy left.

The room fell in silence. Yeri keeps on stealing glances to Irene to check her while she's also unpacking. You can see that Irene is in deep thoughts and she's so worried about her unnie. She can't blame Seulgi if she did that to Lisa the other day, she's so mad, she can't stop Seulgi, even her, she's disappointed to Lisa.

They both saw how Irene waited for the Thai. They both saw how she care for Lisa and it's hard seeing Irene this broken but she can't get mad to Lisa. She knows there's something deeper that's why she broke up with Irene. She's sure that Lisa have feelings for the older and she won't just give it up because of insecurities. She'll just wait and hope that they will be together again.

After showering, Irene walk to the balcony with a cup of coffee in her hand when suddenly, her phone rang.

"Unnie, did I wake you up?" It's Wendy.

"No, I'm not yet sleeping." She answered then took a sip of her cup. Then, the line went dead silent. She knows Wendy just wanted to check on her. "I'm fine Wendy." She said with a sigh.

"I'm just worried. Seulgi shouldn't take this mission especially when you're not in your good state of mind. What if something happened to you while doing the mission?"

"Nothing that I can't handle. Don't worry. Why are you still awake tho?"

"Nothing, I'm just worried."

Another moment of silence...

Irene felt bad for Lisa because she may be choking or not having a good sleep because she keeps on thinking about her.

"Let's stop it here than prolonging this nonsense." Lisa's voice echoed through her ears. She bite her lip to stop the tears that's threatening to fall once again.

"Hey, why are you still awake?" Irene came back from her senses when she heard a voice from the other line.

"I'm just talking to Irene unnie. You?"

"I woke up and was about to get a glass of water when I saw you." Oh, it's Mina's voice.

"They arrived yet?" Mina asked.

Irene sigh and put down her phone after pressing the loud speaker. She take a sip of her cup again and just listen to them.

"Yes. Actually I'm—" Irene look at her phone when she didn't heard what Wendy said next because it came out muffled like something block her mouth.

"Wendy?" She called and pick up her phone again. "Wendy are you there? What happened?" She suddenly became nervous because no one's answering. "Wendy what's—"

"Sshh, unnie don't talk for a while." Wendy whispered from the other line. It must be something serious so Irene really went silent and tried to listen. She can hear faint voices from the other line. She can even hear sobs. Then, she heard Wendy walk with another light footsteps, probably from Mina and the voices became clearer.

"Don't say that. You're the kindest person I know Lisa. You sacrificed your happiness just to protect her. To protect us. Not everyone will do that." It's Jisoo's voice.
