Tour?

The sunlight from the nearby window lit up the whole entire room, and shined brightly in my whole face as I opened an eye. "Shit that's bright." I muttered, while pulling the thin, white sheets over my head.

I turned over, expecting to see John by my side, but instead I saw a note.

Katy,

Out for a walk with Moose. Meet me by the lake.

John

I smiled and put the note down, then picked up my bathrobe from the edge of the bed. I put it on and then slipped into my black uggs.

As I walked out the front door, I noticed my hair was a complete mess, so I quickly put it up in a messy bun, then lightly shut the door.

The lake was very close to the house, so I didn't have to walk that far.

I saw John in the distance, playing with Moose and laughing, while talking to someone on the phone.

As soon as I got close to him, I heard Scarlett's voice on the phone. It was sweet to know that he's talking to her, and caring about her.

"Is that Scarlett?" I asked John, who threw a stick at Moose to fetch.

He looked at me with those big brown eyes, and nodded, still on the phone with her.

"Look baby girl, I gotta let you go. But do you want to talk to Mommy."

"Yes!" I heard her screech.

I smiled, as John handed the phone to me. "Hi princess!"

"Hi Mommy." She spoke, softly.

"What's up? How are you and Emma?"

"Good."

"Oh well that's great. I have to go now, but I'll talk to you later babes."

"Bye Mommy."

I hung up and handed the phone to John, who sat down on the bench at the edge of the lake.

I joined him and put my head in his shoulder. He kissed the top of my head and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

I broke the awkward silence and stared out into the lake. "I'm gonna miss you so much." I spoke, trying to fight back the tears that were forming in my eyes. "I'm gonna miss you, and our daughters, and... everything."

He looked down at me, and stared into my eyes. "Katy..." He said, speechless.

"I'm sorry for being so emotional. This is just really hard." I replied, while wiping my tears with the sleeve of my robe.

He pulled me in closer, and placed me on his lap. "Katy. Shh." He cooed, but it didn't seem to help. "I know it's hard. But I promise you I'll take care of Emma and Scarlett. And I'll even go to some of your shows."

"Really?" I say, looking up at him.

"Of course. Don't you worry." He said and tapped the tip of my nose with his fingers.

I kissed his cheek and placed my head back in the crook of his neck.
