It was the night of Emma's first birthday. Our little one is finally a year old, and ever since she was born, we've both realized that we aren't perfect, love isn't perfect. We've had our ups and downs, but at last we're finally happy and so in love. No matter what happens, I know that each step I take, it will be with him by my side, and he'll never leave.

I stared at him lying beside me in our large, king sized bed with his eyes on the television screen. They never left it. He was so concentrated and into the same old show he watches. I chuckled and grabbed the remote that was in his stable hands. "Aye give me that." He laughed, trying to grasp it as I waved it around in the air.

"I want to talk to you, c'mon John." I whined, and gave him my best impression of puppy dog eyes and a pouted lip. It seemed to do the trick.

"Okay." He sighed, and shut off the tv, then glanced over at me who was now looking through the basket of old photo albums beside my bed. "What're you doing?" He asked with a frown.

"You'll see." I smirked, and pulled out the first album. Oh gosh.

"What is that?" John asked, most likely embarrassed. Some of these pictures were most likely from 8 years ago, and that's a long time ago in his world.

I climbed into our bed again and cuddled up next to him. He wrapped his strong, muscular, arm around me, as I opened it up to the first page.

"Oh gosh... look at this!" I giggled, and pointed to the picture that John and I had taken the first time we ever went to Tokyo together. "We both looked wasted."

"Well, we probably were." He joked, and rubbed the side of my arm with his warm hand, as he kissed my temple. I scanned my eyes through the pages until I was finally done with the book.

"I just can't believe that was like seven years ago, John. Where has time gone?" I whispered, shut the cover lightly, and placed it back into the basket.

"I dont know honey. But we sure ended up in a better place." He said to me, and I put a smile on my face as I crinkled my nose. He kissed the tip of it and placed his hand on my thigh. "You wanna do something crazy right now?" He asked, and grabbed my hand.

"Like what?" I asked, while furrowing my eyebrows. I was confused, but I'm in love with his crazy mind. He ran to the other side of the bed where I was, and turned around so his back was facing me.

"Get on my back." He demanded, and I laughed, trying not to second guess him like I've always seemed to do. Just live in the moment. I thought to myself.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist, and he spun me around, as I giggled. He raced down the steps and I let out a small scream. "John." I whispered. "This is completely insane!" I yelled. Probably not a good idea considering both of our kids are asleep. He ignored me and ran outside to the pool. "Not this again." I laughed, and stared into the water while he put me down.

He smirked at me and took off his shirt and pajama pants, leaving him in his boxers. "Oh, yes." He replied, and stood there eyeing me up and down. "At least you're not pregnant this time." He says, as he shrugs his shoulders, and walks to the edge of the pool. He stood there a while, just staring into the empty pool. Probably wondering why I'm not already undressed. I quickly ripped his shirt off of my body, but that's all I had on, and walked up behind him, only in my bra and panties. I place both of my hands around his shoulders, and kiss his warm cheek.

He turned around and stared at me, looking all around my body. I shyly tried to cover it up with my arms, but it obviously didn't work in from of John. My face seemed to flush, as I blushed. "Don't." John whispered, and took my hand, reassuring me that I didn't have to be like that around him anymore.
