(^Teddy's outfit of the day. P.S. thats not what he looks like. Okay? Okay.)

I'm currently sitting inside a noisy diner with my six friends, eating a greasy lunch. You'd be surprised how much money I've spent on lunch over the past few weeks, I'm genuinely glad that my parents supply me with money to spend on food and other things.

Some people might call me spoiled because my parents like to pay for everything in my life, but i ignore their comments. I've tried telling them i can get a job to pay for my own things, but my parents have always insisted on doing it for me. It probably has something to do with their past.

My dad grew up very poor. And i mean, like, dirt poor. They had no money as a kid, and there were nights that they went hungry. I remember him explaining that to me when i asked him why he was so insistent on spending money on me. He said it was because as a kid, they didn't have money to spend on each other. And when he was younger, he vowed to himself to make good money to provide for a family.

He got a job and started saving money when he was 14. Obviously, it wasn't a real job until 16, but he made small amounts of money here and there for the first 2 years. It took a while, but he went to college when he was 20 years old. Luckily, he got a full ride scholarship, which meant he didn't have to pay for school. He used his saved up money to buy a cheap apartment and food for himself.

When he got out of college, he started working at an architecture company. He didn't make good money at first, but he worked with what he got. He met my mom around that time, and they fell in love despite both their struggles. As time when on, and he got promoted, he started earning money, which he saved away. By the time he was 29, he left the company he worked for and started his own business, using some of the money he had saved up.

Things were rough for him a first, and money was tight. He told me that there were nights he didn't eat. But he didn't give up. It only took about a year, and his company finally took off. He was making a steady income and he and my mom moved into a nicer apartment together. He proposed to her a few months later, and they got married. It was a small wedding, considering they were both saving money.

By the time my father was 33, his company had grown into a million dollar company, although he wont tell you that. He has never been one to brag. That was around the time my mom was pregnant with me. My brother was already born. They moved into a nice, but moderate house. And the rest is history.

My parents don't like flaunting their money, but our family has a lot of it. They like spoiling their kids, but they also taught us manners and respect and giving back to those who need it. Thats something my father has always been very invested in. He loves anonymously giving donations to different charities. I aspire to be like him.

I'm snapped out of my daze as something soggy hits my forehead and falls down onto my plate. I look down at where a greasy fry is now sitting on my plate. I scrunch my face up in distaste, realizing that, something that greasy just touched my forehead.
