Caleb's POV

"What the hell was that Faith?" I yelled out after Faith when i was about 10 feet away from her. She stopped dead in her tracks, spinning to face me.

"Don't what the hell me! I have a right to be weirded out!" She yelled back, clearly pissed at both the situation, and at me for not taking her side. If only she knew that I knew about this the whole time. That would earn me a slap to the face— no doubt.

"You had no right to speak to him that way!"

"He's a freak!"

"That comment about his mother was out of line. No— everything you said was out of line." I growled, getting closer to her.

"But it was the truth! Their relationship is wrong—"

"And who the fuck gives you the right to decide that?" I yelled back, angry at her for her stupid opinions.

I knew I couldn't control her initial reactions to something. Thats the funny thing about emotions. They're uncontrollable. They cant be changed. They can be trained and manipulated overtime, but you can't change someone's genuine opinion towards something easily. She has the right to her own opinion. She has that freedom— we all do.

It becomes a problem when she starts projecting that opinion onto someone else, and making them feel bad about themselves.

I watched Teddy's face fall at her words.

I could feel his heart drop from across the room. You could see his face visibly morph from comfortable and relaxed to guarded and sad.

And that fucking pissed me off. Teddy was like a brother to me. When someone hurts him, it hurts me. I don't allow his feelings to be hurt. I have the brotherly urge to protect him from anything that could harm his wonderful view on the world. On himself for that matter as well.

"I did! Because its wrong, Caleb! Are you even listening to what I'm saying? Wrong!"

"How does their relationship effect you at all—"

"Because they shouldn't be acting like that. We're fucking adults. Not some god damn children!"

"Then keep that opinion to yourself. You had no fucking right to speak to teddy, and degrade him the way that you did. No fucking right Faith." I growled back. She scoffed, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms over her chest as she looked away from me, leaving us in a heavy silence.

I had never seen Faith act this way before. Not in all my years of knowing her. Thats why her outburst was so odd to me.

There was tension in the air. An odd way to describe it— but it was there. It was a heavy feeling. Like anything could happen at any moment. I broke the silence first.

"We're done." I stated, shaking my head.

"What?" Her head snapped towards me, her eyes widening slightly in shock at my words, almost as if she didn't believe me. But I meant them with full sincerity.

"We're over." I repeated.

I couldn't look at her the same ever again after how I just saw her act.

"What the fuck do you mean we're over?" She growled, taking a step closer to me like she was trying to me intimidating.

"It means exactly that. I'm breaking up with you. I don't want to be with someone who talks to my friends the way that you spoke to Teddy tonight. I thought you were better than that." I stated, once again, before turning on my heel and starting to walk away. She caught up to me quickly, rushing to stand in front of me and halt my footsteps.

"You can't just break up with me! We just got together!" She exclaimed with disbelief etched onto her face.

"Yes I can. I just did it. Goodbye Faith" I rolled my eyes, before stepping around her, walking back towards Damien's apartment, leaving her standing there shocked.

No one fucks with Teddy and gets away with it.
