It had been a few days since Yumeko had attacked the eldest Minamoto. Though she knew things would return to normal, she hadn't thought about clearing up everything with Kou.

Oh Kou. Cute, little naive Kou. Well, he was growing and he had seen Teru's face of disgust towards apparitions. He came to the realization that his kindly brother was not always so kind... but he was still his elder brother. He treated him well and protected him when needed. He was a good older brother not only to Kou but to Tiara as well. The lovely Minamoto princess was spoiled plenty by her older brothers.

But if there was one thing that Teru was never exact about, it was Yumeko.

Despite having met as young children, the girl had appeared from basically nowhere and would act more as some kind of guard rather than a friend. Though she did slowly change her way of being it was still enough for Kou to see the change.

Her mannerisms, her way of interacting with other people from the family or lack thereof, the way she would hardly eat and yet during training with Teru, she was so strong...

Kou knew there was something different about the girl he called as his older sister. Yes, she was so beautiful, far more beautiful than any human he had seen. Her body temperature too, was not as warm as his or as Teru's. Yet, she was so kind to him. She would play with him when he wanted and read him stories and, and...

She had been there for them when no one else was.

The adults of the Minamoto house were often preoccupied with other matters and though for the most part would handle all the children's needs, they weren't always there. The children were left to play on their own but even they needed someone else to care for them. Yumeko had been like a breath of fresh air in their stuffy world.

But, she was always hiding something. Kou wanted to know what was so important to be hidden away, that only his older brother knew about. He was tired of being kept in the dark by his friends and by the ones he called family.

"Nii-chan. What are you and Yumeko-nee hiding?"

Dinner time was the same as usual, Kou had taken care of the grocery shopping and was making hamburg steak for that night. Sauteing the onions, shaping the patties and all the while interrogating his older brother who was sitting at the dinner table with Tiara, who was coloring. The oldest child hummed at the question. He wasn't sure what to say. He was going to tell Kou at some point, but didn't see it necessary before. Even Tiara didn't know the truth of Yumeko's true origins.

"There's a lot you still don't know, Kou. It'd be best to discuss these things with Yumeko here as well, don't you think that would be fair?"

Kou, who was stirring the sauce that would go on top of the hamburger meat, pursed his lips as a pout formed. That was true and she had been truthful with him when he asked things, well for the most part his curiosity was satiated but still.

The three had dinner and as Teru helped gather the plates to put into the sink, he made an off handed comment about contacting the other teen later. This left Kou with more questions. But the one that burned most in the back of his mind as he thought about what homework he needed to finish, was about the other day when Yumeko apologized to him when Teru collapsed. It couldn't have been her fault, so why had she...?

He would soon get the answers he wanted.

"Kou is pretty bright for his age. He thinks we're hiding something from him."

Teru slashed his sword into an already weakened apparition, as his left hand gathered some lightning. He, as per his usual nightly routine, was at an abandoned children's park fighting off apparitions that had gathered. It was difficult having to remember that the vampire was no longer there to help him out when he called out for her but he could still handle everything himself. He had done so in the past, this was nothing different.
