February 14, Valentine's Day. A day where it was meant for love to be professed and lovey dovey acts to happen. March 14, White Day. A day where the lovey dovey acts were returned with gratitude.
The vampire was no stranger to this concept and yet she had never previously had to worry about needing to return the favor. Most chocolates, if she received any, were from classmates and were only friend chocolate. There may have been one or two honmei chocolate but because those came with a confession (that was rejected however), she needn't worry about those.
It was about a week before March 14, the convenience store she would occasionally stop by had a couple magazines especially dedicated to this day. However, most were only filled with date ideas and other romantic thoughts that would most likely not work on a certain Minamoto. Yumeko frowned as she saw most of the return gifts were hair accessories or jewelry; even the cute date ideas to the aquarium or fancy dinner wouldn't be useful...
She thought about it as she flipped through the pages in the magazine before switching off to another. What would Teru enjoy?
Yumeko had certainly enjoyed the blood filled chocolates. Though that was something she enjoyed and definitely wouldn't be able to recreate. They couldn't exactly go out for a date; she didn't do well under the sun and he couldn't travel at night due to apparitions appearing. Whichever way she saw it, there wasn't an easy way to solve her ever growing dilemma.
"Maybe Kou would have an idea."
Which is how, during the lunch hour she scouted out Kou, wanting to interro- ahem, ask him about gift ideas for Teru. While the vampire had sensible gift ideas for Christmas and birthdays, this was new territory for her.
"Eh? A gift for Teru-nii?" Kou had been in the girl's bathroom with Yashiro Nene and Hanako who was floating idly nearby. The younger Minamoto held a mop in his hand, most likely helping the dual toned hair girl clean up the room.
Yashiro Nene, though she didn't have as close of a relationship with the older student, leaned in closer once she heard the student council president's name from Kou's mouth. Her face flushed at the thought of buying something for him and then intimately giving it to him. It sounded like those scenes from romance novels... not that she would know very well.
"Um! Senpai! What if you and Minamoto-senpai went on a date to a really romantic-"
"We're both a bit busy with certain things, so a date wouldn't be the most optimal.. if anything I'd like to give him something he would be able to use often."
The radish like girl pouted as her idea was shot down before she even finished.
Hanako, who had been quietly observing, placed his hands behind his head. He wasn't too familiar with the concept either (he hadn't been the most popular child when he was alive) but he wondered if he should prepare something for the chocolates he had received.
"What about a gift from the other world?" Hanako suggested a rather thoughtful idea. Plus, realistically, it technically was the only advice he could offer. Though, seeing as Yumeko was giving him a deadpan expression, he chuckled nervously and went to hide behind Yashiro who was still pouting at her rejected suggestion.
But this did get her thinking. She couldn't really cook or bake (she didn't have human taste buds after all) but she could get him something to use during his exorcisms. But he hardly used anything but his prayer beads and sword...
