Akane Aoi was a smart and diligent student. Though he had his quirks he wasn't bad company and had good friends. He had a position on the student council and was top of his grade.
But no matter how much he racked his brains about it, he couldn't quite understand the relationship between his two upperclassmen, Minamoto Teru and Fujisaki Yumeko.
Due to his (unfortunate) supernatural existence, Akane was aware of more things than the average human. Such as the facts that Minamoto Teru was an exorcist, that the supernaturals that existed in the school and that the ever lazy Fujisaki Yumeko was a vampire.
At first he had questioned how the pale female had come into acquaintance with such a (dangerous) individual like Teru but even then many things had never made much sense. For starters, her lack of eating or drinking anything. He had never seen her once partake in any of the snacks that were sometimes brought into the student council room but he had also never seen her bring any food container. It was odd.
However more questions grew, seeing as the female was enamored by the blonde but he treated her so coldly. Though she didn't outright show her love for the sadistic devil, he could still see her love for the blonde.
Though he hadn't known her nature, one evening he had seen something he hadn't thought he would ever perchance see.
He'd been walking home one night, a quick run to a nearby grocery store for a snack when he caught sight of the second year female. But what caught his attention the most was of the bat shaped wings on her back as she fought with something? Right, he was wearing his glasses.
It was later when he discovered his upperclassman was indeed, a vampire. A supernatural more popular in the West and yet here was a living example.
Akane wasn't sure what to think about the girl. She was strangly lethargic for many things, though he guessed he could put that fault because of her vampirism. She was smart but heavily unmotivated and would only do something for studying if Teru commanded (though she did love to read apparently). Really, to Akane, the person known as Fujisaki Yumeko, was not what he expected.
This brought up the question, if she was a supernatural in her own right, how was Teru so close to her?
Was it because she was part of the living, in a physical way, that allowed her to feel more alive and less like a supernatural? Was there some sort of ulterior motive for why he was so close to the vampire? Though he was cold to the vampire, he didn't have the look of absolute hatred towards her. It was too odd for the first year supernatural to think about.
Though sometimes he wondered if the demon president would ever act romantically towards the vampire. Although she never voiced it out entirely, one could clearly see she held certain feelings for the blonde that weren't simply admiration or puppy love. No, it was possibly deeper.
A while back, he had asked Teru about this. He didn't get a proper reply. When he questioned Yumeko, she merely blushed before leaving the room with a mention that she was going for a nap. They both evaded the questions ...
Even though the two wouldn't admit anything, Akane could see a bond between the two had formed.
It was why it was so wild to see the president to stare at the door for a few seconds longer than he should have as Yumeko left. Akane was unsure of what to label them. Were they together? Did they have some sort of deal together? Even the scandalous thought of if Yumeko fed from the blonde wandered through his head. It was clear something was going on between the two, something troublesome enough to distract the demon president who was only soft on his younger siblings.
"Akane, wipe that silly look off your face. You must be confident in our bet if you have time to loiter around."
Oh how Akane wanted to wipe that grin from his face. But he couldn't deny it, Minamoto Teru clearly held some sort of affection towards the vampire. That much had been clear to the younger boy in those lingering seconds.
