"You know I've wondered." Silver locks flow gently, as a sword was blocked. "When you'll allow Kou to properly train? He's going to injure himself more the more you allow him to run around like that."

Yumeko worried for the younger boy, he wouldn't always be under the protection of his elder brother. "What should he do if he's stuck in a situation without his darling older brother to help him?"

Black lightning flowed around her, caging her inside. Teru's eyes cold and calculating. "We'll get there when we get there. He's doing fine now." The lightning struck but it did nothing to our dear protagonist, except maybe singe her hair.

The vampire laughed. "Truly, is he really? Then it's fine that he's suffering damage from his own lightning, I guess." Evading a swing from his sword, she went in with a kick. His eyes glared at her form, dodging. They had been sparring for hours since early morning, Yumeko showed no signs of exhaustion whilst the oldest Minamoto son was starting to move slower.

"You should know your limits better than I do. Take a break for now, yeah?" She had dodged most of his attacks, not wanting to exert more energy than necessary.

"Teru-nii! I'm gonna go grocery shopping for tomorrow's lunch, need anything?" Kou entered the room, unaware of the tense mood beginning to form. Standing up, Yumeko attached herself to Kou's side. "I'll join you!" Anything to get away from grumpy Teru.

"Yumeko, we're not done." The girl turned to face the older boy and smiled coyly. "Maybe not, but your body won't last much longer. Kou, lemme just grab something and we can be off."

The young boy put his shoes on, tapping his toes to ensure extra comfort. "Kou, if you don't want her to go along just tell her. There's no need to be so nice to her." Kou grinned warily, he knew how serious his brother could be with Yumeko but he wished Teru would suck up his feelings of hostility and be kinder to the older girl.

"Nii-chan, I'm not sure why you're so hostile to her but I hope you guys can get along better." The younger Minamoto truly did wish his brother wasn't so rude to the elder girl. From what he remembered, they used to treat each other pretty friendly when they were kids. What could have changed since then? He should ask Yumeko during their trip.

Yumeko returned, a parasol in her hand. "Ok, let's go! Teru, stop with the glare. We'll be back in a bit!" Despite not adoring going outside while the sun was out, anything was better than staying with Teru right now.

She denied both boys the chance to reply, pushing Kou lightly out the door. It would be the first time in a really long time that she had been alone with Kou for longer than a few minutes.

"Kou, we haven't talked to each other properly in awhile, have you been trying to exorcise Hanako all this time? Or could it be," a teasing grin graced her lips, "you got a girl you like and you're trying to woo her?"

Kou stammered at the sudden question, face pink in embarrassment. "Nee-chan! It's nothing like that! I don't- I don't like senpai like that!"

"Oh? It's a senpai? Kou, you sly dog." Her little teasing banter towards Kou brought a genuine smile to her lips. "I'm joking, I'm glad you made another friend." Just one more jab, she decided.

Kou dejectedly sighed but eventually also smiled, "Yeah! She's really kind! I think you would like her too, Nee-chan." Could it be that he was referring to the 1st year with bicolored hair, the one Hanako had taken a liking to?

"Maybe you could introduce us sometime. I'd love to meet her." It wasn't necessarily a lie, but she had already technically met the young girl. But. . . Just for now, she'd just talk as if she knew nothing.
