the following does not follow the current plot...
The sound of a pencil scribbling on to paper was the only sound that could be heard throughout the room. At some point, ruby eyes looked up at the other person in the room. She bit her lip in worry, weighing in her options.
While it was true the blonde in front of her was the one she had held feelings for the longest time, she had decided it was best to tell him the truth soon. It would be for the best interest of everyone and she would finally be free to do what she pleased.
But she worried over his reaction, after all they had been together for some time now. If she suddenly brought it up, what would he say? Would he do something very drastic?? Perhaps...
The vampire shook her head. It would have to happen sooner or later anyways.
"Ne, Teru. I have something I'd like to—" though lady luck was bot on her side today, for she was cut off mid sentence by none other than Akane, who had barged into the room.
"President!! What is the meaning of this?" With no warning, the older teen was dragged outside, leaving Yumeko to her lonesome. Hand left hanging in the air, mouth open in the midst of her inquiry. This was fine, yup, just fine. She would be able to tell him when he came back.
Ten minutes passed, then ten more, until a half hour had gone by before Teru had returned to the room. By then Yumeko was reading a book (pretending to), reading the same paragraph over and over not wanting to draw herself any attention. As the blue eyed boy sat back down, the vampire shut her book. It was now or never, yes.
"About what I was saying earlier, I—" Yumeko began once more, only to stop herself as she stared at the door with an eyebrow raised. "Why is Akane still outside the door?"
"He's still outside?" Teru had been led out for some nonsense before but now it was just too much of a coincidence. Why had he even been led outside in the first place? Akane had just left him alone after getting him out of the room. At the two stares Akane could feel through the door, he turned, bumped into a dejected looking Kou, startled the younger boy and fled the scene.
As Kou opened the door, the elder two had gone back to holding a stare down. "Um, why did he look so scared?"
"No idea, Kou what brings you here?" Yumeko answered the younger Minamoto, eyes still locked onto Teru's blue orbs. The younger teen shifted from looking at his two older siblings before blinking and sighing. He should be used to their weird antics but even he had a limit. Though a staring contest was new to Kou.
"Uh, Hanako said he wanted to meet you at the 'usual' place, Nee-chan." The boy used his hands to quote the word, usual, unsure of what that meant but seeing how the silver haired teen perked up at the mention of the ghost, he guessed that she knew what that meant. The vampire broke off her stare and immediately grabbed her things before making her way to the door.
Kou moved to the side seeing her quick stride. At these actions, Teru was confused. Their staring contests usually took time to be completed but at the mention of the seventh mystery, she upped and left. How peculiar, he thought. Grabbing his sword, he too made his way out of the room, Kou following close by after having closed the door.
He didn't know what was happening but he was about to find out.
Yumeko on the other hand, peeked through the corridors. Once confirming the coast was clear, she made her way towards the old building and in the direction of the girls' old bathrooms; Hanako's domain in short.
A dual toned, first year girl spotted her upperclassman making her way towards the bathroom. Not some place Yashiro would say she often saw the older girl go to. The younger girl was on her way back to her classroom, needing to pick up a textbook before going home. But this, this situation made her curious! What could Kou's older sister possibly want with Hanako?? Were they going to rendezvous together? Was it some sort of prank?? Wait, were they going to get together to scheme up some elaborate prank to pull on herself and Kou??? Or were they-
"Oh! Senpai! Did you see Yumeko nee-chan pass by recently?" Kou called out to the older girl. He and Teru had lost sight of the vampire but he was thankful to have spotted Yashiro. Teru, however, continued his stride towards the old building's bathrooms.
He had a bad feeling forming and he did not enjoy that feeling. Kou was by his side so it must be something about Yumeko; deep down he was worrying about the ruby eyed vampire. He gulped down his worry, fake smile plastered on his face as he passed by Yashiro Nene and his little brother.
The two followed after the student council president, sending each other wry looks.
As they neared Hanako's domain, the trio could hear voices faintly but it was clear it was Hanako and Yumeko. Yashiro tilted her head, trying to decipher what was being said. Though she could have just gone in, it felt like she shouldn't interfere. Teru on the other hand had different idea.
After pausing just outside the room, Teru strode forward once more, ignoring Kou's silent warning to not go inside. As the three stepped foot inside, they were met with a surprising sight.
On the window sill, sat the silver haired vampire. In front of her, though he was floating and appeared more translucent in the evening sun, was Hanako. He had his back turned towards the entrance but what was even more shocking was the two were holding hands---
Wait, the two were holding hands and looking at each other lovingly, were they in the same dimension???
Kou's jaw slacked at the sight,Yashiro began to squeal at how cute the two were and Teru... the oldest Minamoto began to crumble at the sight. His nemesis and the person he liked, together...
"Teru, this is what I was trying to tell you earlier." The ruby orbed teen gazed at the floor bashfully while Hanako blushed and smiled at the trio. He nudged the vampire quietly, making her cheeks flush pink in response. She had been trying to find a way to reveal to Teru her feelings towards the ghost but they had kept getting interrupted. What better way to show it than through physical evidence.
"Sorry Teru, the one I liked all along was Hanako."
Teru could feel the world around him begin to distort as though he were in a bad dream and he was trying to break free. Though earlier he had 'crumbled', he could now see his world fading to black and neither his sibling nor the other three noticed the inner turmoil he was facing.
Teru closed his eyes and left them shut for a few seconds before opening them once more. He was laying down on his bed; okay so he had just been dreaming. The teen sat up on his bed slowly trying to regain his bearings. What a dream- no, what a nightmare that had been.
The exorcist was thinking about going to fix himself some warm drink before going back to bed, yup, definitely needed something to shake off... whatever that had been.
Once in the kitchen, the Minamoto heir poured some milk into a mug and since Kou would have his head later if he destroyed the microwave, he decided to drink it as was. Footsteps could be heard from behind him, they were light but filled with a skip to their step. Probably Princess, the blonde thought.
"Nii-chan I want some too!" A male voice called out... wait what. Teru turned and was faced with a five year old Kou, who skipped closer to the elder. "I want some too!"
Teru toppled over, his consciousness fading for a few seconds once more. When he opened them, he was back in his room. Everything was quiet, there was no sudden urge to go to the kitchen, nor were there any steps outside his door.
He shuddered at his previous dreams. Yumeko together with a ghost? Well, Kou being five again was cute but Teru was a disaster in the kitchen, they would never survive. He sighed and turned over in his bed. That was the last time he was going to drink cold milk before bed.
