Had it been a terrible idea to come just before dinner? Yes, it was. In the last few days, Yumeko had grown accustomed to not needing to eat human food. It wasn't like she could taste the food much less that her body needed the nutrients that came with it.

As much as she loved to see Kou again, and as much she thought she had prepared herself to talk with Teru, seeing him again had been much more overwhelming than originally thought.

"I don't plan on staying for long. I only dropped by to pick up some of my school books." Her voice soft and quiet, as the two teens walked further from the kitchen. Teru's presence grew faint, he hadn't followed close by. Yumeko was, conflicted. She wasn't sure if she should be happy about the space or if she should feel hurt but when it came to Teru, there wasn't much she could do. Because deep down, she knew how much he hated the supernatural.

"I see." came his only reply. Was that it? Biting her lip, the vampire glared harshly at the floor. What the hell, why were humans like this?

Fist formed at her sides, catching the attention of the exorcist behind her. An eyebrow raised at her actions, unsure if to perceive it as a possible threat or just an emotional moment from the vampire. Whichever it was, his guard didn't lower.

"Then... I'll get onto that quickly, I'll leave you alone."

The girl sauntered off to her room, a hand grabbing at her wrist impeding any further movement away. The action made her frown, she hadn't expected to be stopped again but she should have expected it; it was Teru who she was talking about. About to voice her indignance, she was shut by the sour expression on Teru's face.

Perhaps sour wasn't the right word to describe it. But what else could she name the look on his face? It made no sense to her. He was grimacing but at the same time he was thoughtful of something and yet he looked... pained, as though the situation itself hurt him rather than her. What right did he have to look that way? If anyone should have that expression, it should be her.

Yumeko questioned the hold he had on her wrist with her gaze, set heavy on Teru's face. She did not speak, afraid if she did she might break and confess everything she wanted to; her heart wasn't prepared for that just yet. Sure she had confessed in some way before but not everything. No, now was not the proper time for it.

Swallowing any further questions, she tugged away her wrist easily. Yet, Teru was persistent and took hold of it once more. Her tongue kissed her teeth, giving an irritated look back to Teru who openly glared at her direction now. Was that all he could do? Glare at her as if she was the cause to all his problems and staring her down would solve everything?

"I'll be cutting our contract early."

"You can't back down on your word. There's a year left."

But... she had to cut ties once and for all. Maybe that would be for the best. Though she wouldn't deny that she loved Teru's blood and that it would be hard to forget it at this point, part of her rationality crumbled at the thought.

Not having to worry about her meals much less about needing someone to voluntarily give her blood when it was easily accessible in donation bags already, what a dream. Even if she couldn't drink to uphold the contract partially.

With Teru's hand holding her wrist in a crushing grip, the vampire girl could only do one thing: drag the blonde exorcist with her. She was strong enough to drag him, even when she was in a semi weakened state. His eyes widened a smidge, just enough for him to catch himself, if she could so easily carry both of their weight like this, what else could she possibly be hiding.
