"Dear, It's a holi Roli. Don't dispose it to the thrush." Pandit ji says while Ahana scoops the fallen vermilion from the floor to the plate.

"After retrieving it all up, please give tilak to everyone who is left." the Pandit says again.

Veer comes back washing his hands. And immediately Juhi hangs on to him.

"Isn’t this Juhi a bit too much clingy to Veer?" I ask Mahir in dismay.

"Why Juliet? Jealous?😏" he smirks nudging me with elbow.

I roll my eyes, "Lol!!! Of course jealous." I show him my nail marked forearm.

Mahir laughs, "Well, I know it seems a bit unapt the way Juhi sticks to Veer. But we cannot say anything about it. She's Mishty bhabi's sister, you see... And we don't want to hurt bhabi by saying anything improper to her sister. Beside she and Veer, they know each other for quite long time. So it doesn’t seem to us or Veer as inappropriate as it seems to you people." says he.

"Well....you better tell your brother to do such PDA away from my sister's gaze. It's hurting her quite badly. I can't even remember when I've seen her smiling genuinely last time." I scowl towards Veer and Juhi.

"What's with this silence?" Mahir asks me avoiding the topic farther and I shrug.

The hall is strangely quiet. A few are whispering into each others ears secretly. Even our elders seems oddly unnerved. I see Bani getting down with bhabi. She has changed in a yellow kurti....her hair is clean now but the parted hair line is still reddish from the remaining traces of Roli.

After giving everyone tilak, Pandit ji offers the Thali to Surya God, then passes the Prashad. After having Prashad, everyone takes blessing from the Pandit.

I and Bani touch Pandit ji's feet and he blesses us, "Sada saubhagyavati bhava!"

"Guys lets get on the roof, see others have also started flying." Kunal bhai calls while carrying the kites upstairs.

"Veer bhai, carry those thread wheels na...." says Maan.

Veer moves forward to carry them but Mahir stops him, "Tu rukh Veer,...umm....Juhi can you please take them to the roof....I have something important with Veer."

"Okay....." Juhi agrees unwillingly.

After Juhi leaves, Mahir drags Veer at a corner and asks, "Are you giving up on Bani?"

Veer looks at him confused, "Why do you ask this all on a sudden?"

Mahir sighs, "Why can't you just answer me? Are you?"

Veer: No.

Mahir: Then what's with this behaviour of yours? You Don't talk to her...do you?

Veer(sighs) : No, I didn’t....it has been a week.

A few people from neighbourhood gives some odd look towards Veer and Mahir. Mahir lowers his voice.

Mahir: By any chance, are you taking revenge on her for that strangling incident?🤨

Veer (scoffs): Of course Not!!! Why would I? I know how impulsive she is. And I know she's regretting it from the very moment.

Mahir: Then?

Veer: I'm just trying some experiment on her I guess...

Mahir: experiment?

Veer:Yeah. I just wanted to see if I really matter to her like before....
