A New Beginning

Bani's PoV
"Dulha is here....dulha is here...!!!" Disha delighted voice reaches our ears as I tuck my sister's chunri in it's correct place.

I look at her through the mirror. Time changes...as well as destiny, isn't it?? Barely a month ago I we were in the same room...at the same position. That day she was getting her ready to have a commitment...and today she will be fulfilling the commitment with her soulmate. That day we both had hollowness inside us but today...two big goofy smile splitting us ear to ear...eyes filled with happiness and a skyfull of promises.

"You sure about this???" I tease for old times sake.

Bella grins at me, "As sure as I was that day!" And we both laugh.

My Bella...! She has become the bride today. A new phase of her life is going to be commenced. In fact a new phase of OUR life is going to be commenced today. And I'm glad we're together in it. She will be in front of my eyes. I know things will change a bit from now. Despite being in the same surrounding, She will have her own world just like I'll have mine. And I must respect that space. From now on I have to leave my persistence and let my Bella face her own challenges. Of course I'll accompany her throughout all the struggles....!

I chuckle at my own thoughts. No matter how much I cock-fight with her...pull her hair...she will always be my first child. The instinct of protecting her from every harsh things in the universe and beyond that is never gonna fade away off me.

The corner of my eyes burn. I run tip of my ring finger over the Kajal of my eyeline and place a kala-tika at the back of her ear...then say, "There is always a room for backing off you know...!"

"Well.... considering the fact that I'll again have to bear you 24/7 for the rest of my life...I might run for that room, you know...!" The cocky bitch she is!!

"Yeah yeah....of course you will say that!!" I roll my eyes.

Bella gets off the dressing cot and stands facing me. Then wiping the tears from my eye corner, says tenderly, "Among these hundreds of useless talks I might not say this again in my life...so listen carefully this time girl...you will always be my second Mummy. Don't worry for me. I'll will do fine. And yes...I won't back off ever...'cause I know you will always have my back, may it be for kicking my ass or saving me from falling...!!!"

We both laugh through our tears hugging each other. Few seconds later Mummy, Meera bhabi and choti chachi come inside calling us.

Mummy: Girls...are you done?? The groom's family has already arrived. Hurry up!

"Yeah mummy...we are ready. Let's go." I say putting my hands on Bella's shoulder.

"Fine...you and Meera bring her down. And Bani...you are their daughter-in-law too. So behave that way downstairs with them...okay?" Mummy says.

"Okay mummy...I will. Let's go." I reply.

Mummy stares at both of us for two moments then drawing her Kajal, gives kala-tika to both of us and says, "come quickly." and leaves.

My mummy is a strong woman...

As go down walking Bella to the pandal, the hall is already filled with guests everywhere. Tapish Bhai takes Bella's hand from us and ushers her on the Mandap beside Mahir. Suddenly my heart feels heavy remembering my own wedding.

Shaking my thoughts off I approach my in-laws. They have already started scattering around the Mandap. Daksh and Kunal Bhai are roaming around with camera hanging on their neck while Mishty bhabi and Ahana is coming towards my side seeing me. I walk to Dad and Andy pa who were talking animatedly with Pappa and bade chachu and take their blessings. Mishty bhabi and Ahana come engulfing me in hearty hugs.
