"What are you grinning so much for???" I ask Veer as he turns the car in our lane.

Veer grins wider and says, "Just life, isn't it beautiful?"

I scowl at him. Just a minute before I told him why I was so happy last night when we entered the hotel room.....and now here is the result of spilling your bean to your best friend.....lover....husband....most importantly to an INSENSIBLE MORON!🤦‍♀️

I slap my palm on his arm and grabbing it he kisses my knuckles. It's already dusk when we reach our home. The journey back home was nothing like last day. It was full of fun and love. Veer couldn't keep his hand off me all the way....either kissing my face....or squeezing my thigh, palm. If this is how he thinks of taking it slow then I don't know what fast would be like.

Veer stops the car and gets down. Before I can touch the clutch, he's on my side opening the door for me. I smile at him and get down. How life can change its colour in less than a blink, isn't it? Veer gets our luggage while talking over phone. I wait for him at the front door. When he comes, I take the luggage from him. He gives it to me easily then keeps standing. I smile at him waiting for him to enter with me.

"What? You want me to join you?" he asks me smiling.

And my whole body blazes in anger. He's again mocking me. I hit my knee hard on his joint making him cry.

"Ouch!!!😣 Sweetheart!!! What was that for??" he asks me making a pained face.

I growl at him, "Don't you know for what?😡"

Veer stares at me miserably, "No...I just asked you if you want....." he stops and then as if realizing something funny starts laughing.

"Hahaha! Sweetheart I was not mocking you for the last night.😂" he keeps laughing and I move for another kick but he stops me.

"Wait....wait.....Didn't you hear me talking on the phone?" he asks me.

I frown, "I saw you talking...but...no! Didn't hear anything."

Veer comes close to me, "There's a meeting in an hour. So, I'll be going to office now. Can you go alone inside?"

"Oh!" my face falls, "But....you just drove for so long.....! Now you'll go to meeting. You must be tired na...." I ask him worriedly.

Veer shakes his head smiling, "Don't worry about me, wifey. I'll be fine. You go, take rest properly."

"Okay....come back early." I say in a low tone. I was really looking forward to spending some more time with him this evening.

Cupping my face Veer pecks on my lips softly and says, "It's just a few hours, baby. You have me for a lifetime."

I smile shyly and bid him goodbye. As soon as I push the main door, I see all the ladies of my in-law standing at the side of the door. Seeing their facial expression it doesn't take me much time to understand that they all have heard our entire conversation just now.

"Pranam Mom, Sumi Ma" I take blessing from mom and Sumi Ma.

"Wish you be happy, dear...I mean of couse you are...as we can see." Sumi Ma grins at me and I blush red.

"Ahem ahem....shall we go inside, sweetheart?" Mishty bhabi asks feigning innocence and everybody hauls in laughter.

God!!! So embarrassing 🙈

Without saying anything farther I run upstairs to our room to hide my flushed face while I hear everyone laughing behind me.

I come down after having a long good shower. The boys are still not home. Pinky and Ponky are studying in their room while Mom, Sumi Ma, Mishty bhabi are peeling green beans in the dining table.
