When Fire Cracks From Both Sides

I walk back into the lawn while searching for him between the guests but that boy is nowhere to be seen. As I walk further out, finally I spot him walking towards the garage.

I hastily run up to him and catch him near his car.

"Yo mister...What are you doing here??" I ask going near him.

But Veer doesn’t answer me. Instead he starts unlocking his car door. Strange...!

"Oh got it!! That time I told you to stay away from the girls, that's why you've come here, right!! Ayy my sweeeettt husband!!!" I grin squeezing Veer's both cheeks but he moves away from my hold.

"I'm leaving." is what comes out from him but what shocks me more is Veer's frosty voice and that distant expression on his face.

"Hey...!" I move closer to him placing my hand over his and ask softly, "What happened??? You were fine just now. Then what happened so suddenly??"

Veer takes off his hand jerkily and says with the same coldness, "I just got a phone call from office. I've to go to a meeting."

Liar!!!

"No, you can't." I say in equally cold tone, "You can't go anywhere before tell me what pissed your mood off just now."

I can't let him go now. I'm still not done of my plan...

"TOLD YOU NA, I HAVE TO GO!!!" I almost jump as he shouts at me.

I stare at him shock-stricken for a moment. Anger still etching over his face yet showing the hurt he is deep inside. Have I gone too far??? But he was fine when we danced. That means whatever happened, happened just after the dance.

I glare back at his angry face and say fiercely, "If you are thinking that I'll back off by your shouting then you're very much wrong, Veeranshu Singhania!! You're not going anywhere untill I get my answers!!!" saying this I grab his hand again and drag him to the other side of our mansion.

I bring him to our green room...though it has become yellow room today. I have decorated the whole room with yellow roses and marigolds. I've made a flower bed of rose petals in the middle of the room with the whole floor covered with marigolds petals. The glass walls have been shaded with yellow curtains so that we get our privacy yet the sunlight can come in.

I leave Veer's hand locking the door behind us, "What happened Veer?" I ask him softly.

But without meeting my eyes he says, "I'm sorry...I shouldn’t have shouted at you that time."

"That's not the answer of my question, Veer? My question is what exactly is the matter that made you shout at me like that??" this time I use my stern tone.

But he states with the same tone, "Go to the venue, Bani. People must be looking for you." saying this he steps forward to leave.

"No one will look for anyone!" I put my hand on Veer's chest stopping him at his track, "My family members know me very well. They are used to this disappearance habit of mine so they won't bother to look for me. And with the mighty reputation YOU have among your family members, they won't even dare to look for you even if they wish to, Veer. So better stop giving excuses now and spit out whatever is bothering you."

Veer looks away laughing sardonically and utters, "Huh! As if there's no one else outside your family who's waiting for you!"

"What? Who are you talking about?" this boy is literally getting on my nerve now.

"Your Dhruv!" Veer looks at me irritatedly, "I'm talking about your Dhruv! What are you doing here?? Aren’t you two supposed to dance together??? In fact you were dancing, right? Then why are here now?? Please go, Bani...don't waste your time here!!"
