Emi startled as she gasped for air only to see Aizawa kneeling next to the couch she's sleeping on. If it wasn't because of Aizawa appearing right where her eyes led her sight, she wouldn't remember she was here for the night. Emi sighed tiredly as she wiped her sweaty neck with her forearm. "Sorry Eraser, did I wake you up?" she uttered downcast. Aizawa tossed her a concerned look-not that she noticed. "It's alright, are you OK?" he asked softly, "I've been trying to wake you up for a while."
"Really?" she grinned, "how embarrassing."
"Wanna talk about it?" he asked with his voice raspy. Emi blushed-hoping Aizawa wouldn't notice due to the dark living room. "Nevermind," she grinned, "just some nightmare, you should go back to sleep, I'll try to be silent next time-"
Before she got to end the sentence, she felt a cold surface upon her forehead-Aizawa's palm-causing her to slightly shiver-which she concealed. "You had that drowning dream again?" he asked, "you're burning." She stalled-and yes, she did dream of that. "It's fine really, it's a daily thing I'm getting used to," she forced a grin, "it'll fade somewhere in the day."
"You want some more blankets?" he asked. Emi desperately nodded with her head down. After a little while, Aizawa came back with a thick black blanket and gently spread it upon her slightly shivering body. Emi squinted and gave herself a tight hug beneath it. Aizawa's apartment is much colder than Emi's and no matter how daily this happens to her, she knew she'll never get used to it. As the cold breeze stabbed through each of her pores, Aizawa asked, "Will that do?" She nodded and showed a soft smile, "Yes, thankyou."
As she sun's up, Aizawa walked out of his room with his yellow sleeping bag still on-fortunately, since he added leg to it, he's able to use it everywhere. Just as he walked deeper to the living room he noticed something on the couch. Emi covered in thick black blanket over her head-he can even see the blanket slightly shaking from where he's standing. He lifted the blanket with two fingers with an eyebrow raised curiously. He stalled seeing Emi's eyes wide open. It's like she haven't been sleeping through the night.
"Emi?"
"Eraser," her voice was raspy, her lips dry. She faintly looked up to Aizawa with the corner of her eyes, "I'm very sleepy," she said, "Do you mind if I stay here 'till noon? I promise I won't be loud." She grinned-which he ignored. "Are you getting any better? Should we take you to the hospital?"
Emi forced a soft smile-it's hardly even a smile to recognize under her much paler skin. "No thankyou and yes I'm much better," she replied as she pulled the tip of the blanket from Aizawa's finger to cover more parts of her body, "no need to worry, Peter Husband." Aizawa rolled his eyes then walked away. Staying close to her for so long can only let her bring much worst jokes-she knew he'd leave after a few of it which is why she did it all along. Even though her jokes couldn't make him laugh, at least it can keep him away for the moment-for God's sake it's too awkward to keep on letting him see this vulnerable side of her.
As the hours passed, the day only gets colder-at least she's gotten used of it. She sat up at 10 with her bright yellow jacket zipped up and the hoodie covering all the way to her forehead. Her hands were tucked in the pockets when she walked towards Aizawa who's sitting on the dining table having breakfast. She sat on one of the chairs, "Do you want me to change the bandage for you?" Aizawa raised an eyebrow, "You don't even look alive."
Emi laughed, "I'm pretty sure I'll still be a better surgeon than you when I'm dead." Aizawa rolled his eyes, "And no, I don't want you to." Emi grinned. "Come on, you can't just let it stick like that forever," she said, "what's the point of having me here?"
She cracked a hacking cough as she walked across the room for the first aid kit. After that, she gently opened the bandage covering Aizawa's leg and did her so called 'baby surgery' all over again. Another dry cough before she's all done. "Thanks again," he uttered.
As she felt herself shiver even more she grinned at the figure before him, "If you'd let me, I'll go back to sleep for a little while."
