Chaeyoung spent that day locked up in her room, only coming out to grab food. Jimin, meanwhile, spent his time wandering around the house. He bumped into Lisa, who was munching on some tteokbokki in the kitchen.
"Want some?" She offered him some chopsticks to share the food.
"Thanks."
They chewed in silence. Jimin looked down at the counter, then made up his mind.
"Liz, what's Chaeyoung like?"
She stared at him, puzzled.
"Shouldn't you know-"
"I thought I did."
"I, um..."
"We got into a fight," Jimin admitted, then took another bite. "She'd been hiding something pretty big from me and now I don't know how I can trust her, or if I really know her at all."
"Oh." Lisa frowned. "Well, Chaeng...she never has any bad intentions. But often she can get exasperated easily."
She paused, then continued.
"She can be very mature but also a little thoughtless at times. One thing that really annoyed me during the first few years that we knew each other was that, she wouldn't let me make my own mistakes. And in the end she puts too much on her own shoulders."
"Does she still do that?"
"Not really. We used to keep things from each other like this, but at some point we both committed to talking stuff out. Rosie is really a sweet girl, and if she loves someone she puts them before herself. You just need to get her to open up."
"Has she ever hidden something from you?"
"Something big? No, but if...if she thought it could really hurt me she might. Did she do something that hurt you?"
Jimin shrugged.
"She lied to me for a while, is all. I don't think she meant to hurt me but she did."
"Ah."
"It's going to be hard to trust her now. I mean, she's been pretending since the start, and I fell for it really easily. Our whole relationship was based on something she faked and that makes me feel uneasy."
"What did she do to you?" Lisa looked outraged. "Should I go talk to her?"
"It's fine," Jimin chuckled. "I think I'll manage."
Lisa relaxed and smiled.
"You know how to express yourself," she chewed thoughtfully then swallowed. "Mature. More than any guy I've talked to."
"Should I take that as an insult?" Jungkook walked in and sat next to Lisa. She rolled her eyes.
"Well I'm sorry, Mr. I-was-too-scared-to-risk-being-rejected-by-Lisa-so-I-decided-to-ask-for-a-sex-only-relationship-instead."
Jimin raised an eyebrow.
"Seriously, Kook?"
"She agreed to it!" Jungkook shrugged.
"Yah!" Lisa turned red under Jimin's stare.
"You maknaes...you should be more careful."
"Yes oppa," Lisa bowed her head, still embarrassed. Jungkook chuckled and nodded, placing an arm around his girlfriend's waist.
"Are you doing okay with Chaeng, hyung?"
"We'll be fine. We might have something to tell you soon, though." Jimin stood up and forced a grin. "Thanks Liz, you really helped."
"Do you think they'll break up?" Lisa whispered.
"Hyung won't do that," Jungkook assured her. "I wonder what happened."
"Yeah, it seemed like a pretty big de-"
"Guys, I need your help!"
Chaeyoung stood at the door, panting slightly.
"Are you okay, noona?" Jungkook frowned.
"I have a plan, to apologize to Jimin."
"Oh?" Lisa scrunched her nose cutely in confusion. "Can you tell us what happened first?"
"Basically I fucked up big time," she said sadly before telling them everything. By the end, they both looked more confused, and Jungkook looked slightly pissed off.
"Joy? Are you sure?"
"Why are you doubting that it's her so much?"
"She used to be my friend. We helped each other during our trainee years, including some time after we debuted."
"And? What happened?"
"We grew apart as we became busier. Yet I still can't picture her threatening Chae, or anyone else for that matter," he muttered.
"Are you saying she's lying?" Lisa raised an eyebrow.
"I mean..." Jungkook glanced at her. "No offense, Chae."
"Listen, I know that at the moment I don't seem the most trustworthy," Chaeyoung sighed as she clicked through her phone. "But I'm serious. Here, I have proof."
She showed them an old text conversation with her.
"This isn't the Joy I knew." Jungkook sounded slightly disappointed.
"People change, Kook. And somehow Jimin brought out the worst in her, unknowingly." Lisa consoled him. "She must have had some problem in her past."
"Guys, I really love Jimin. I feel like shit for putting him through this, this is everything I wanted to avoid but I couldn't do it forever. Please help me out on this one."
"Of course, pasta."
They looked at Jungkook, who sighed and crossed his arms as he observed the girl in front of him.
"Promise me you'll talk to him openly in the future first."
"You have my word. I'm done with hiding things from him, from everyone," Chaeyoung promised. Jungkook watched her for a second before grinning.
"Okay, tell us your plan."
This was more of a filler guys, I'm sowwy 🥺👉👈
I have to figure out how to do something for Chaeng and Chim. I'll work hard, I promise!
Thanks so much for all your support, as always! Love you, stay safe.
