Four days. Jimin hadn't talked to Chaeyoung in four days, and it was beginning to drive him insane. Both his pride and fractured memories ran through his head. And though he didn't want to, he was worried about Chaeyoung's safety, given the crazy woman that had been threatening her all this time. He had planned telling the others about the good news when Chaeyoung told him about her pregnancy. He had planned on proposing to her, even if they didn't get married until a few years. Now, everything seemed far away. They were supposed to start over, take it slow, but how could they do that with a baby coming in less than a year?

In short, his world was a mess. And Chaeyoung was staying silent throughout his slow mental breakdown, which made him question whether he was being too rough on his girlfriend, and then getting angry at himself for caring. She was the one who hurt him. She was the one who broke their trust.

He had talked to his hyungs. Their calm advice was the only reason he was sane as of that moment. The girls had helped as well, checking up on him and doing their best to cheer him up, each in their own ways. It kept him going.

At the moment, Jimin was in the studio, reading through one of the songs he had written a few years back. It seemed fine since the start, but something was missing. He'd been trying to figure out what it was for a while now, experimenting with different sound and lyrics. It still sounded empty.

Could it be the tone? he frowned, tapping his pencil on the now withered sheet of paper. He tried to concentrate but felt drowsy, his eyelids growing heavy as he stifled a yawn.

It was late...the clock on the wall read 11 PM.

"...Chim?"

Startled, he jumped slightly, then blinked.

"Chaeng." His voice came out raspy. "What are you doing here?"

"I couldn't sleep," she responded quietly. He didn't answer, instead closing his eyes and feeling her presence.

"Can I join you?"

Jimin nodded, running a hand through his hair. Chaeyoung sat next to him, a sheet of paper in her hands.

"What's that?" he asked after a moment.

"I mixed up some chords, for fun," she replied timidly. "Do you mind if I play?" she motioned to the piano. He shook his head and watched her position her hands gracefully, her small fingertips grazing the white keys.

She began to play, closing her eyes. Jimin did the same, listening. She had always had a way to place emotion into even the simplest of notes, and her playing had always relaxed him. But his eyes flew open when she began to sing softly.

Those lyrics...

His gaze slowly moved to the song he was working on, and imagined her sweet voice melding into the chorus.

The keys, the words, the flow. It worked. She completed it.

He waited until she finished.

"Did you write that?" he asked quietly. She nodded and looked at him.

"For you. Actions may speak better than words, but I thought music has always spoken the most to me. To us."

"I don't know what to say to that," he said honestly after a few seconds.

"Give me another chance," she pleaded. "You're my best friend, you're all I've ever wanted. I know I blinded myself to that but I'm ready to grow. I'll prove it to you."

"You completed my song."

"I- what?"

Jimin chuckled and shook his head.

"Nothing. I forgive you."

He pulled her into a hug that she gladly returned.

"From the very start, I fell for you. You should know that," Chaeyoung murmured into his neck.

"Yeah." Jimin smiled. He was fully awake now. "You're gonna be an amazing mother."

"As long as I'm with you." She beamed back. He chuckled, then grew serious.

"We need to settle the issue with Joy. Are you sure she didn't physically harm you?"

"No, but she threatened all of us, even you. She's sick." Chaeyoung shook her head. "Someone must have really hurt her in the past. She wasn't always like this."

"I know," he murmured. "It's crazy the things this life can do to you, huh?"

"Yeah..." She traced patterns with her finger on his chest. "I'm grateful to have you, Jimin."

"I'm grateful for you too."

They spent the rest of the night in each other's arms.
