JISOO AND JIN

Jisoo sat immersed in her book while she sipped at her strawberry milkshake. Drinks usually weren't allowed in the library, but the librarian knew her well and let her be.

The world of books was one of her favorite escapes on days like these, when she wasn't busy as a trainee and had time for herself. She'd loved reading as long as she could remember- every new book meant a new adventure, a new character, a new world. One where she didn't have to train 24 hours a day with the faraway goal of debuting with her friends one day, of reaching the dream they all knew they were meant for.

It was a relief.

Lisa, Jennie, and Chaeyoung were out shopping in Hongdae for the weekend, but she'd excused herself and told them she needed some time to relax by other means.

So Jisoo found herself spending most of her day in the library, happy with her large pile of books.

She was just nearing the climax of the plot when she heard the sound of someone occupying the chair in front of her. She  groaned internally.

"Drinks aren't allowed here."

She finished the paragraph she was on and looked up calmly.

"The owner knows me well, she trusts me not to make a mess."

The boy nodded.

"I've seen you here a few times, um..."

"Kim Jisoo," she said, forcing herself not to sigh. He seemed nice, but she honestly just  wanted some time alone. He flashed her a brilliant smile.

"Kim Seokjin. Jin for short."

Jisoo nodded politely.

"So you like reading?" he asked.

"No, I just come here to eat and stare at the books," she deadpanned.

"Hey, I'm just trying to make small talk, you're so quiet I feel like I'm talking to a rock."

"You're the one who barged in here!"

"Out of the goodness of my heart."

"How does disturbing my reading make you a good person?"

"I'm just blessing a lonely girl with my handsome looks."

Jisoo snorted.

"You're delusional. I'm better looking."

Jin looked outraged.

"Excuse you!"

"Can you do this?" Jisoo made her best aegyo. Jin winked at her and sent her a flying kiss. She rolled her eyes, called him basic, and did a different pose, showing off her heart-shaped smile.

"Admit it, Kim Seokjin, you're fighting a losing battle."

"Once I finish my training at Bighit, I'll have millions of fangirls and you'll regret not getting closer to me today."
