~a few hours earlier~

Lisa watched Jin and Jisoo from the bar with a soft smile on her face.

From the very first dinner the group had spent together, everyone had realized there was something going on between the two, but they had silently agreed to say nothing since they didn't want to upset them.

Lisa sipped from her glass as she watched them. An overwhelming feeling of loneliness enveloped her as she wondered if she and Jungkook could ever end up like them, happy. If that were even possible, it still seemed impossibly far away.

She sighed and shivered as the ocean breeze hit her bare shoulders.

Maybe I'll just run away. That way I won't hurt anyone anymore, she laughed bitterly at herself, but then bit her lip.

Running away. Just for the night, maybe a day.

The idea was so tempting for some unknown reason, she felt her heart pounding inside her chest with some sort of furious energy. All she wanted was to get away from everything.

Where would she go?

She stared at her drink, drumming her fingers on the table idly. Maybe it was the alcohol in her system taking over her senses.

Lisa stood up out of nowhere and made her way through the crowd out into the parking lot. She opened the van and grabbed a cap, a mask, sweatpants to keep her legs warm under her dress, a small blanket, and enough money for a two-way train ticket and something to eat. She took off the black wig she was supposed to wear in public since her natural hair was too frizzy. She hesitated on whether to take her phone but ended up leaving it on the car seat.

With that done, she plopped on her cap, adjusted her mask, pulled on her sweatpants and set off for the nearest train station. Lisa knew what she was doing was pretty stupid, but it wasn't her first time either.

Sometimes, she just needed to disappear. It was that simple. Her unnies had accepted it after the first six times. Sometimes, she left for one night. Once, she left for two weeks. The girls knew she would always return.

As Lisa walked on, she felt a single raindrop fall on her nose. Giggling slightly, she stopped and watched as the drops of water got thicker around her. Rain was really beautiful. Out of nowhere, a single word appeared in her mind.

Run.

So wrapping her blanket tightly around herself, she ran.

...

"Shit, he's heavy," Jennie groaned as she staggered while attempting to help Hobi out of the car. They were arriving at the house after a long and loud ride.

"Jen, I told you to leave him, I'll get him in a second," Taehyung scolded her, pushing Namjoon out. Jennie pouted and let Hobi sit down. He dozed off and she giggled and patted his head.

"Sweet dreams, I hope you feel the pain I felt while carrying you tomorrow morning."

Soft snores came from the inside of the car and Jennie peered in. Jungkook was fast asleep. No wonder she hadn't heard a word from him during the ride back. Mind you, she was busy controlling the others.

"Psst," she kicked his foot lightly. "JK."

He didn't budge and she rolled her eyes before leaning over and flicking his forehead. He jumped.

"Oww!" Jungkook glared at her drowsily. "What's your problem?"

"Learn some respect, kid," Jennie grinned. "And while you're at it, help me carry Hoseok to his room."

"Fine," Jungkook grumbled. "But you need to gift me that Overwatch skin I've been begging for."

"Deal," Jennie smiled. She, Jungkook and Jisoo had been Overwatch buddies from the very start. Jungkook wasted no time in scrambling over and heaving his hyung up.

"Is Lisa already inside?" He asked quietly as he stepped out.

"Lisa?" Jennie murmured offhandedly. "I don't-"

She stopped in her tracks.

"Lisa?" Jennie repeated more urgently.

"...What?" Jungkook stared at her.

"Where is she? I haven't seen her since we got to the club!"

"I was asleep," Jungkook ran a hand through his hair and tugged at it. "You sure she isn't in the house?"

"Let's ask th-"

"HAVE YOU SEEN LISA?" The panicked voice of Rosie called them from inside the house.

"Okay, never mind that," Jennie's voice wavered and she bit her lip, looking down. She had run away. Again. It hurt more everytime.

Was it me? Did I fail to take care of her once more?

"Why are you so calm?" Jungkook gritted out, his chest heaving as he tried not to show his fear.

"Lisa..." Jennie sighed. "Lisa often runs away. When she's really upset. She just puts too much on her shoulders, blames everything on herself. She struggles with depression. But she always, always comes back."

"I'm going after her," Jungkook muttered.

"Once I tried and she got so angry at me," Jennie trailed off. "She likes handling things on her own."

"What if she's in danger? You're just going to leave her on her own?"

"I-"

"What if she reaches a point where she can't bear it alone anymore? What kind of sister will you be to her then?"

Jungkook's eyes pierced Jennie's.

"L-Lisa's strong. She would never-" Jennie gulped. He was right. She had done nothing in order to let Lisa run things her own way but this time, it was too much. Something needed to be done.

"Is it because of you?" she asked softly after a long sigh. She gently crossed her arms across her chest.

"Probably."

Jennie stared at him for a while, searching his eyes carefully. He was silently begging her. She wavered for a second but then gave in.

"Fine, let's go."
