caspian and alexandria ran up spiral stairs laughing. "last one's the cat's food"

alexandria, taking the lead, was already exhausted from running so much. caspian had chased her practically through the whole castle.

"thank you for the advantage!" caspian remarked . he skipped a few stairs up and managed to hold himself up when his feet caught themselves.

alexandria had to stop for a hard laugh. caspian almost falling down the stairs was a funny sight. she forced her weak legs to keep pushing up the stone-made stairs.

her velvet youthful dress flowed behind her and her wavy honey-brown hair flew out of her face as she sped up.

caspian's loose button-up shirt filled up with air making it expand. "alex, come on! almost there!"

the staircase was 4 stories high, enough to make you pause for multiple breaths. they both finally got to the top and caspian opened up the door to the main and highest balcony.

wind came over them and their hair blowed. caspian motioned alexandria to go first. she made her way there and took in everything around her.

the whole kingdom could be seen from here. the bridge, the rest of the castle, the gate including every corner of the huge walking space in the middle of everything. soldiers guarding the entrances and exits.

she rested herself against the railing. warm summer breeze against her cheeks and she smiled. caspian rested himself next to her.

"its a shame uncle doesn't let you come here, you seem to be enjoying the view". she bit her lip looking down the balcony.

alexandria seemed troubled. "caspian, why do you think my father doesn't let me here? "

caspian looked at her and smiled. he grabbed and pushed her towards him. "because he doesn't want you to know how real freedom feels like. its alright though, you have some freedom with me".

she looked up at him and smirked. she quickly attempted to "launch" herself over the railing catching caspian off guard.

"ALEXANDRIA! what are yo-"

she fell down to her knees and began hysterically laughing. scaring caspian was her favorite thing. pranks are their favorite.

he sat down on the balcony floor and grabbed his chest. "do.not.do.that.ever.again!" he pushed back his hair and breathed in and out.

alexandria just kept on laughing. "you should've seen your face! oh! that always gets me" she got up on her legs and held out her hand. caspian took a hold of it and stood up.

"would really i die if i fell from this height?" she asked standing on the tip of her toes trying to imagine the ride it would be to fall from the balcony down to the hard floor.

caspian scoffed and rolled his eyes. "most definitely, why do you think i acted the way i did?"

"i don't know, maybe because youre my cousin-"

"blair you need to wake up"

alexandria's happy expression turned horrified. caspian was just staring at her with no emotion, like a robot. he didn't even look like himself.
