spiritual meaning of a dandelion;
healing from emotional or physical pain. surviving through all challenges and diffiulties.
~___________~i pressed down the marvelous blue dress down my body. it had small diamonds intricately placed at the waist, forming a sort of band. an exquisite pattern of blue marble covered the underskirt of the flowy bottom skirt. at the neckline a detailed lace hem put the dress together.
gosh, alexandria really had quite the clothing collection.
through the mirror, my eyes traced all the way up to my face. my hair fell down my shoulders and two pieces from either side of my head were tied back. i actually looked like a princess this time.
i folded the handkerchief edmund had given me neatly on the dresser with the stitch right-side up. i went over the delicate stitching with my finger, laughing inside at the thought of him pocking his fingers with the needle trying to perfect the yellow flower.
the potion bottle that had given me the memories i needed to survive one time and another rested close to the handkerchief. my eyes turned to the bed behind me at the sword laying on the edge of the bouncy platform. i don't think i'l need it for today.
my thoughts were interrupted with a sudden knock.
"blair? you look amazing!"
lucy beamed at the sight of me all dressed up. she ran past my room door and embraced me in her hands.
i let out a laugh and looked down at her bright face. "me? but you look like a princess!"
she let go and looked at herself in the mirror with a less disenchanted expression.
"i hardly. my only true wish is to look...well, pretty" she turned to me. "and that only arrives with time, right?"
i shook my head relentlessly at her self-doubt. "lucy, you're beautiful right now. with time comes maturity and that's more important than beauty".
lucy snorted.
"and by that you mean edmund? he needs time, alright"
i snickered at her remark which may have made her a little more curious about certain topics. a sly, teasing smirk made its way up her face. her playing eyes made me uncomfortable, the way they stared me down like they knew something.
"so..." she started, picking up one of alexandria's figurines and twirled it around. "what's with you and edmund? you two seem to fancy eachother quite a lot"
the look on my face must've been something absolutely comedic because the minute she saw it she couldn't stop cackling.
"oh your reactions make everything so much better!" she admitted, grabbing her aching stomach and placing the figurine back down.
i hesitated on what i should i do next, this child has really got me second guessing my actions. but is it really a hidden thing. me and edmund? i think it's the fact that a 10 year old is teasing me about it that caught me off guard.
"uh i think it's time we go to the event, won't we get going?" i suggested desperatly while gently pushing lucy out of the room.
"sure sure" snickered lucy while walking into the hallway, "anything to avoid the topic"
i nodded at her defeated face, which made me laugh if i had to be honest.
we walked through the gray hallways of the massive royal castle, heading to one of the exits.
