we ran as fast as we could, jumping over things we might trip on and taking the longest steps i could. i reminded myself of the days i participated in cross-country. for sure my muscles are going to be sore by tomorrow.

"how are you so sure something's happening?" edmund managed to yell. im sure we were going 100 miles per hour. as for his question, i didn't have an answer.

you know that gut feeling you get when something's not quite right? there's a knot in your stomach and your mouth goes dry. that's exactly what i felt.

and im not even sure what this gut feeling is trying to warn me about. caspian? peter? susan? lucy? i dont know. all i know is we have to get there before something really bad happens.

"i don't know!" i yelled back.

my energy was starting to run out but i couldn't give up until we got there. we got out of the forest premises and were now running on the neatly cut grass. the sun was hitting the hardest here.

i secured my sword with one hand for two reasons. one, to keep it from moving and making me even slower and two, ill have it in my grasp if anything comes out of nowhere and attacks.

after a minute of walking on pure grass we got to the main building. we traveled down the slightly steep entry and i noticed there werent many people or creatures inside. odd.

we sprinted to the main council room to see if anyone might be in there. in one slippery part of the hallway me and edmund almost collapsed face first but quickly regained our position. it was quite funny if you ask me.

my eyes couldn't decided what to focus on when we got there. caspian on the floor, lucy being saved from the grumpy dwarf by the d.l.f or peter pointing his sword at ice. but not any ice...there seemed to be a woman inside it.

she didn't look to be frozen or dead, she looked very much alive. she seemed to float just like a ghost would. the ice wall was between the two rock pillars in the front of the room.

to my right i could see edmund tense up. his face went even paler and his hands turned into fists. he looked mad at the ice floating woman.

"blair, stay here and don't do anything stupid" edmund whispered to me.

uh-wow?! the audacity HE has to say that to me. if anything i should be the one telling him that. he crouched down and took little steps around the right wall of the room trying not to be seen.

i quickly ran toward caspian and got on my knees. "are you okay, caspian?" i asked quietly.

he grunted and showed me his hand. it was bleeding and not from a small cut. it was a big one going across his palm. going from what i can see, one of the big wolf-beings dead on the floor might have done this to him.

"blair reed"

my ears ringed with the smooth voice. i turned my head and saw who had spoken my true name. it was that woman.
