my heart seemed to skip a beat when the metal sound of the flashlight hitting the concrete echoed throughout the air. edmund and i quickly made our way to the door leading to the spiral staircase inside the small tower. it reminded me of that one scene in Shrek, where he is running down the stairs with princess fiona.

unfortunately, a soldier had already gotten to the flashlight. fuck, i said in my head. what are we going to do now?

me and edmund got behind a small window and watched as the man took the light in his hands and dumbly pointed it as his face. his whole body flinched and he rubbing his eyes uncontrollably as the light had blinded him for a second. thing is, he was pointing the light everywhere. the army might think it's the signal. hopefully they notice something's wrong.

edmund looked at me for a second before abrubtly jumping out of the window and onto the soldier. the man dropped the flashlight and began wrestling against edmund. i had no idea what to do.

the once quiet kingdom was starting to get loud. in a matter of just minutes what seemed like hundreds like of soldiers began loudly running out of several different locations. i began panicking. edmund was struggling and i had to do something.

i jumped out of the window and got on top of the soldier, putting him in a headlock. it was the only thing i had learned from my cousins doing it to me all the time. the armored man started choking and scratching on my arm. edmund grabbed the flashlight from the floor and smacked the guy across the face making him pass out.

"nice headlock" he celebrated and lifted up his hand. i laughed and high-fived him. "nice smack".

edmund had to hit the flashlight a few times before it could work again. a smile appeared on his face once it did and started flashing on and off. the signal.

the roars of the narnians could be heard from the distance. it officially begins here.

we started running back inside the spiral staircase. we made our way down and the castle seemed strangely alone. it was vacant with some torches hanged up on the walls, lighting the hallways. everything was so gray.

there were 3 hallways, one to our left, another to our right and one straight ahead.

our heads shot straight ahead where sounds of heavy material, a.k.a soldiers were coming from. edmund motioned to come to the right-side hallway.

we ran all the way through and my legs were starting to get wobbly.

"edmund, wait a second. im tired" i coughed a little and rested my hands on my knees breathing hard. edmund stopped and leaned against the wall panting. i looked around making sure no one was following us.

i stood up straight and tried to remember. i have been here before.

i walked to one of the rooms we had previously passed by. edmund grabbed my wrist. "what are you doing?" he whispered. i propped my finger up to my lips, shushing him, and as quietly as i could i opened the door to the room.

it was a normal room. there were red cloths and jewelry hanging from the ceiling and in the far back was a crib.

my breath hitched. this cant possibly be.

"is this...miraz' newborn son?" edmund asked as we both slowly made our way to the silent crib. and there it was laying. a newborn, delicate son. the purpose why miraz treated alexandria so abusively.

and why he wanted to kill caspian.

on the left side of the room laid two cupboards full of decorative items. this room is probably not even half done in terms of decorating. but something behind one of the cupboards caught my eye.
