He left to pursue his dream. She tried to stop him but ended up letting him go. The raw familiar feeling she felt when she heard his voice over the phone. That's when inflamed feelings started to rise again.

Everyone gasped including Ral. Tumawa ako.
"OMG! Congratulations!"
"Bakit hindi ko 'to alam?!" rinig kong sabi ni Mama.
"Kailan ka nag propose, Ral?" si Tita Mel.
I shook my head looking at them as they asked Ral tons of questions. I settled my eyes back to the reporter and saw her smiling from ear to ear.
"Thank you so much for trusting us with this, Irene! I assure you I will write you a great article."
Nagpasalamat ako sa kanya bago kami tumayo para mag paalam. Nang makalabas na sila lalong naging maingay ang kwarto.
"What the heck, Irene! You didn't tell me that you and Ral are already engaged! Damn! Eh hindi pa nga tapos sa trabaho ko kay Katia tapos dadagdag ka pa!" Tita Farah said hysterically, looking stressed. "Anyway, now that's the interview is over I'll head back to the station now. You have 2 days free before you go back to work so do whatever you want."
Nagpaalam na si Tita Farah at lumabas na. Nang makaalis siya bumaling ako kila Mama at Tita Mel.
"Inna, ang pangarap natin noon matutupad na!"
"Oo nga, Mel! Mag balae na tayo!"
The two older women looked very happy and satisfied. Ral went to me and dragged me inside one of the rooms.
"Love, what was that? We're engaged?!"
Tumawa ako sa nalilito niyang mukha. Nairita siya kaya lalo ako tumawa.
"Wa'g ka ngang tumawa! This is a serious matter!"
"I'm sorry! I just can't help it seeing your reaction! Parang hindi ka informed na engage ka na pala!"
"Because that is true! I really am not informed!"
I stopped laughing and smiled softly. "Nakalimunatan mo na ba ang sinabi mo sa akin sa courthouse? You asked me to get married."
"Yeah but you didn't give me a proper answer then."
"I did! I said I wanted to marry you but I have to finish my studies first. Technically, I said yes so we're engaged now!"
Ral sighed and stepped closer to me. He held both my hands.
"I meant every word I said at the courthouse but I want to propose to you properly. Not like this..."
I touched his cheek. "Ral, I don't need a proper proposal because having you by my side, marrying you, and spending the rest of my life with you is already enough for me."
I gave him a warm smile. He still wasn't convinced with what I said so I chuckled lightly and dragged him outside.
