Chapter 28 - A Powerful Change

(A/N) Hello again!

Out with another Chapter, this one a little longer than my previous ones.

Since I saw the preview of the new season 4 episode that is airing on March 27th I got inspired and my hands wouldn't stop. I got that inspired that I ended up writing out the whole of the last chapter even though it's a few chapters away lol

I guess I just wanted to pump these out before a new episode airs or I'll start getting confused and not finish my story!

I like to mainly go off the ending of season 3 with a snip of the New York Special, he only thing I've added to the story from the New episode... would be shown below lol not giving it away sorry!

A beat of silence filled up the space between them along with the finishing green light that surrounded her partner.

All that was heard was the raindrops surrounding them, hearing the wind pick up pace and spreading the rain to fall more heavily on the tin rooftops in the distance.

Rain was a peaceful sound, even in full force. The smell and texture it brought after a long dry spell made everything about it more enduring.

It was moments like this that made rain special between the two.

Marinette watched the drops fall from her partners hair and down his suit with grace. Going over every muscle and bump and sliding right off with ease. His once wet clothing that stuck to every inch of his body was now replaced by his protective suit.

His bangs were sticking to his forehead and looking more wild then before but she doubt the rain had made her look any better, feeling her own hair stick up at all ends with the day she's had.

The blunette watched his eyes glow beneath his mask, blinking at her as if he was waiting for a reaction of shock or horror.

"Chat Noir!" She repeated the words instead, making sure he was real, that this situation was real. "Kitty." She softly choked, tears brimming her eyes with happiness as her hand covered her mouth so her small sobs and gasps couldn't be heard.

He nodded, a bit too ashamed he revealed himself to notice she had called him kitty.

Of course he was her Soulmate, he had always been her Soulmate, in and out of the mask. Dancing around each other until their hearts couldn't take it.

She now understood why Chat Noir had been akumitized and why their love destroyed the world. He had found out her idenitiy first, somewhere he knew he couldn't fix it and she guess that's where Hawkmoth took control.

But now the tables had turned, he had revealed himself to her in order to protect her cilvian self. Showing her just how much he cared for both halves.

This wasn't just Chat Noir anymore! This was the sweet, nice, careless boy who gave her his umbrella as a peace offering to shield her from the rain and to earn her trust and friendship.

This was Adrien Agreste.

"Look Marinette..."

Without listening what he had to say she had walked up to him, a smile on her face and tears in her eyes as she closed whatever remaining distance they had.
