I think many of us, maybe the entire town had been hoping that somehow Jason Blossom hadn't drowned on July 4th. That we'd come to school Monday morning and there Jason would be. Or that we'd see him and Cheryl in a booth at Pop's. But that was before the undeniable, irrevocable fact of his bloated, waterlogged body. A corpse with a bullet hole in its forhead and terrible secrets that could only be revealed by the cold steel blade of a coroner's autopsy scalpel or the telltale beating of a guilty heart.
Since this morning, when they found Jason's Body, I cried the full day. I was lying in my bed and was watching some random movie. I couldn't concentrate, I felt so numb. The first hour I got a lot of calls and messages, the second hour not so much anymore and about the third, I can not tell you. I turned off my cell phone, I didn't want to talk to anyone. I wanted to forget this day, so I put on a black leather skirt and a white top. I grabbed my oversized denim jacket and my Heels. I quietly climbed out of my window, put on my shoes and made my way to a bar on the southside.

When I woke up the next morning I not only had a complete film tear but also a boy I didn't know was lying next to me. I was gathering my clothes, when I took my denim jacket from the chair I saw a leather jacket with a lot of rivets on it and a weird picture on it. I snuck out of the Trailer and called Reggie outside.
Hey Reg! Could you pick me up on the bridge between the two sides?
Did you really had something with one of those Southsider Kat?
Yeah. After yesterday I went to a bar and the only thing I can say is that I was very drunk and ended up with on of the guys in the Bar.
Give me ten minutes!
Thanks Reg!
The trailer from the guy I hook up with was very deep in the Southside. I pulled my jacket on, took out a cigarette and lit it. I recognised the part where I was walking, it was near the Trailer of Jug's dad. "What are you doing here?" I turned around and saw the handsome serpent from Pop's sitting on the stairs of one of the trailers. "I was shopping, you know." I turned to him and smiled sarcastic. He chuckled. "Really funny." I grinned and walked further in the direction of the bridge. I took a last drag from my cigarette, then I throwed the cigarette on the floor and kicked it out. Reggie came around the corner in the car and stepped infront of me.
When Reggie dropped me at home, I snuck back in my room and took a shower. I threw the old clothes in the laundry, then I put new ones on. A black wide jeans with holes and a white crop top. I put my hair in a bun and put some make up on. As I passed my sister's room, I heard Mum and Dad talking to her. "I mean, an accidental drowning, who cares?" I rolled my eyes, I really hate my mum sometimes. "People who have a heart cares, you don't understand that, I know!" I call to my mother. My mum didn't answer, she continued what she was saying. "But the sociophatic son of the wealthiest family in town murdered? That's a national obsession waiting to happen."
I didn't want to continue listening to my mom and made my way downstairs. I took my backpack and packed two sandwiches, an apple and a water bottle. My dad walked into the kitchen and said goodbye to me before I stepped out the door with my skateboard in my hand. In school I saw all the people who put things in front of JJ's Locker.
I stood two meters from Archie, who was staring at the things. I put my skateboard in the bottom and took my book out for the next lesson. There's a photo of me and Jason hanging in the door of my locker, it's my favorite picture of the two of us.
When I closed the locker I heard Archie and Jug speak. "Do you think I could use Jason Blossom's death as an excuse to get out of PE? 'Sorrry, Coach. I'm just too depressed and freaked out right now to do pull-ups'." I didn't say anything, but the statement was funny. "Don't joke about Jason Blossom." I rolled my eyes, Archie wasn't even friends with Jason. "What? Sardonic humor is just my way of relating to the world."
Jughead snorted and I saw the reason why, Reggie and the rest came down the hall. "Look, it's the rich kids from The Goonies. Allright I'm out." As Jughead passed the boys, Reggie pushed him away with his elbow. "Watch it, Wednesday Adams!"
While the others were walking on, Reggie came over and put his arm around me. "Are you feeling better?" I pulled the corners of my mouth up briefly. "Sure!" I lied. Reggie gave me a knowing look and hugged me. I noticed how my tears came. I mumbled against his chest. "He should have come back." Reggie looked at me questioning, I quickly wiped the tears away from my face and fake-smiled at him. "You have to go to football Training Reg and I have to go to class too." I wriggled out of his arm and made my way to class when the headmaster's voice is heard.
Good morning, students. This is your principal speaking. There have been many inquiries about the upcoming pep rally. So let me state clearly it is happening as scheduled. Now, on a less felicitous note if you could give your attention to Sheriff Keller.
Most of you already know the details but your classmate Jason Blossom's body was found late Saturday night. So as of the Weekend Jason's death is now being treated as a homicide. It is an open and ongoing investigation.
And may I interject? Neither I nor my parents will rest until Jason's death is avenged and his cold-harted killer is walking the Green Mile to sit in Old Sparky and fry. I, for one, have my suspicions. Hashtag 'Riverdale is strong'.
If you know anything that could help us find and apprehend Jason's killer or anything about what happened to him on July 4th I strongely urge you to come forward immediately. You can speak with me or Principal Weatherbee. A death like this wounds us all. Let's not let Jason down.
I sat in the chair next to Jughead in biology when I heard Minion 1 speak. "We were wondering, Cheryl. Back in July, you told the police that Jason drowned." I wanted to get up and punch her, but Jughead pulled me back into the chair by my arm. "Yet we come to find out that Jason didn't drown. He was shot. Slightly suspicious, no?" Minion two said. I saw the hurt in Cheryl eyes, she don't understand what happened. He was supossed to come back and not to found dead on the Sweetwater River. "Are you suggesting I had something to do with my brother's death?"
I turned around and tried to block out the girls behind me. Before the conversation could get out of hand, our biology teacher finally showed up. "Seats everyone. Pair off, gloves on, scalpels up." I turned to Jug. "Lets do it together?" He nodded and I put my gloves on. When I turned around I saw well the strangest groups. Moose with Keller. Archie with Cheryl. Betty with Veronica. I started making notes when I heard Cheryl's voice. "In fact I'm amazing!" While she sizing the frog.
