On the next day, I sat with my sister in the Blue and Gold room. Betty was writing on her arcticle while I was writing on my computer too. We were interrupted when Ethel came in the room with a boy behind her. "Ethel." Betty said in surprise. "Betty, you know Trev Brown, right? Valerie's brother?" That's the reason why he looks so familiar to me. "Hey what's up?" "Hey." "Peace" I said and looked up from my cell phone. "He used to be on the football team!" "But I quit when I saw Chuck's playbook. And I may know where it is." Betty and I looked at him in surprise.

In the last lesson Betty wasn't focused at all anymore and I counted the seconds too. But I think that was normal for me. As soon as it got dark, Betty, Veronica, Ethel, Kevin and I made our way to school. With my help we got easily in the school. "Football players behaving badly? What else is new? Stubenville, Glen Ridge. But the coach's son being the ringleader. Just how depraved is this town?"I gave a small laugh.

"Color me impressed!" Startled, we all turned around to see Cheryl Blossom in person. "A B E with B and V. What would your holy Roller mother say about this, Betty?" I rolled my eyes about Cheryl's comment and leaned against the wall behind me. "What are you doing here?" Betty asked surprised. "And where did you get those thigh-high boots? They're amazing." Kevin said.

 "Cheryl are that mine?" I asked her as I took a closer look at the shoes. "You forget them at my house during the holidays." I looked at her indignantly. "I was looking for them Cher!" She just shrugged and then walked towards us. "Trev told Valerie, who told Josie, who told Ginger, who told Tina, who told me. And I thought I would help out." Our school is full of gossipers. "Help? Or derail our investigations?" "Get over yourself, Betty." 

I chuckled and then hooked my arm with Cheryl's. "Hey guys. Get in here." Ethel's voice came from the lockers. We all walked over to her quickly and looked in shock at the book in her hand. "Trev was right. They didn't even bother to hide it." Ethel turned the pages. "'New Girl'? Is that what I'm reduced to? Nine points?" I saw many names in the book that belong to my circle of friends. "Better than 'big girl'. Seven-point-five."

One line below Ethel was Polly next to Jason's name. I stared at the book in shock. I understand that Reggie is in this book, but Jason loved Polly. "Polly's in the book." Betty had discovered it too. "Next to Jason's name." Betty turned away angry, and Cheryl looked at the book in shock. I mumbled a little shit. "This isn't, Jason would never ..."

"It's right there, Cheryl. God, your brother hurt my older sister. This is what guys like Jason and Chuck think about woman. We're objects for them to abuse. And when they're done they shame us into silence. They have zero remorse for the lives they destroy. " "Maybe I don't know Jason." Cheryl walked away from us. "I'll take a picture. We'll show it to Weatherbee. It'll be the perfect cover for your expose." While the others were talking, I leafed through the book. "Yeah, but no. These girls deserve justice, don't you think, Cheryl? You want vengeance? You wanna go full dark, no stars, Veronica? I'm with you! And I have a plan." While Cheryl, Veronica and Betty left school, I discovered my own name in the book. Next to Reggie's. I took a picture of it, locked the book and handed it to Kevin. I ran out of school angry. When I passed the music room I saw Val, Josie and Melody with Archie. Wasn't Archie under house arrest?

 Outside I went to Betty and Veronica. "What did you do, Kat?" Betty asked me. "Nothing Betty, it's all good. So what's the plan?" On the way home, Betty explained her plan to me. At home we both went to our rooms.

I wrote Reggie to meet me at Pop's and then made my way there. I sat down as I looked around the shop I saw the handsome Serpent. I watched him shortly before I looked back at the door through which Reg was just coming in. He sat across from me and looked at me questioningly.

"Why do you look so pissed Kat?" "Do you remember what happened to Veronica? Betty had researched which girls have experienced something similar. Then Ethel told us about the playbook and later someone came up to us, he was once on the football team. Said he might know where it is, why we just went to school. And guess what we found? " Reggie looked at me and made no sound. "Exactly the playbook, I looked through it a bit. It didn't bother me that you stood in there until I discovered my own name beside yours." I pushed my phone over to him with the picture on it.

He looked at the picture and stayed quiet. "Don't you want to say anything about it? Why the hell am I standing in this book? We agreed that we wouldn't tell anyone about this mistake!" When Betty came in and went to Chuck. Reggie was about to get up, he understood that she was up to something. I kept his arm on the table and asked him again. "What's my name doing in the book?" "I had only told Moose, who had spoken to me about it again and Chuck heard it."

 "Why didn't you tell him not to write our names in the book and I read what stand next to it." He looked around as if he was uncomfortable. "I was just mad, I liked you more than friendship at that time and then you told me that it was a mistake and that we should forget about it." I looked at him in shock. "Well, I'm not into you anymore and I'm sorry I didn't tell you. Please forgive me, I'm sorry!" I didn't know what to say and took my phone back. "Ok. Go please, I need some time for myself." 

He got up, hugged me, and then left Pop's. I ordered a burger and took out my computer. While I was at Pop's, pretty much everyone else was at the event that was hosted by the mayor. Even Jughead wasn't here. Many milkshakes later, I made my way home. When I got home, Betty was already sitting at the computer in her room and was writing. I didn't want to disturb her and went to my own room. I got ready and then went to sleep.

Good and evil. Light and dark. Betty und Veronica. Two sides of the same Janus coin. Given Betty's article, Weatherbee needed a sacrificial lamb needed to make an example of someone. So after Hermione Lodge negotiated a lesser sentence for our two avenging angels. Coach Clayton, to save his job, to save the school's reputation was forced to cut his own beloved son and his goon squad from the team an action that. Though none of us knew it at the time would have terrible consequences in the weeks to come.But one thing was certain: Betty and Veronica now B and V and maybe forever, had been forged. They walked through the fire and survived.
