It felt like hours waiting for Jughead but finally he was there. "If print journalism is dead, what am I doing here?" Jug has a good point, I don't even know what I'm doing here. "The blue and gold is not dead, Juggy. It's just dormant. But wake up. You're writing a novel, aren't you? About the murder of Jason Blossom?" "Riverdale's very own In Cold Blood." He said, holding up a magnifying glass. "Which started out as a series of articles. I'm hoping you'll come write for the Blue and Gold." I looked at Betty in surprise, it was logical, Jug is good. But I didn't expected she was really asking him. "I just don't think the school paper's the right fit for my voice." "Juggy, Jason's death changed Riverdale." And here we go again, Jason, why was everybody so obsessen about it, can they just stop. "People don't wanna admit that, but it's true. We all feel it. Nothing this bad was ever supposed to happen here, but it did. I wanna know why." Betty explained and stepped towards him. "Would I get complete freedom?" "I'll help and edit and suggest but it's your story. It's your voice." "Doesn't sound like complete freedom but I'm in."

It's so obvious that they like each other that it's funny again. "Okay, great. Um, in that case, I have your first assignment. There's one person who was at the river on July 4th that no one's talking about." "Dilton Doiley and his scouts." Jughead concluded. "Exactly!" Betty said. Jughead left the room and I turned around to Betty. "Do you like Jughead?" She looked at me in shock and mumbled a no and left quickly the room. I had to laugh about it and then left the room. I closed the door behind me and then went to my locker.

I put my books back in the locker  and wanted to close the door, suddenly Jughead was standing there. I breathed in, startled. "Jug! Don't scare me like that!" He grinned and closed my locker.

"I have to tell you something." Jug told me when we left the school. "That you like my sister?" "What, no. Betty is nice." I laughed softly at his reaction. "It's not about that, it's about Archie. You have to keep this to yourself, but I have to talk to someone about it."

I promised not to tell anyone about it. "Archie has something with Ms. Grundy." My eyes widened in shock. "With Ms. Grundy? Oh my God!" I wasn't expecting that. "That's why he doubt me on July 4th, that's why he was at the Sweetwater River that morning, they were there together. I saw her in the music room, that's why I even know." I had to digest that first, Archie and the music teacher. "Ok, that's not what I expected."

Jughead walked me home, on the way we talked about the past. When we were children. We talked about our family situation. I always knew about his father. He didn't told me it on purpose. I was partying on the Southside when I saw FP with his Serpent Jacket. Happily he hadn't recognized me, because my mum would kill me when she find out that I'm partying on the Southside. He dropped me at home and went home too.

Yesterday I went to bed early so my mum and dad couldn't talk to me. When I stepped through the front door of the school I saw Veronica, Betty and Kevin at Veronica's locker. "Chuck has muscles for days but his conversation is not the stuff of Oscar Wilde or even Diablo Cody." "What did you expect, he is a football player." Kevin slapped my arm lightly, while Veronica grinned about my comment.

Tina and Ginger walked past us with their cell phones in their hands. "How was the Sticky Maple you had last night?" I saw at the two shocked, Chuck didn't do that seriously. "The, what?" Veronica asked confused. "The Sticky Maple Chuck gave you. How was it? "I got my cell phone out to check if that was what I thought. I hear how Veronica answered them something about food confused.

Suddenly every cell phone vibrated and when I opened the notification, I was shocked. "Oh, my god! " Kevin said when he looked at my phone. "What?" I gave her my cell phone. "What the hell is a sticky maple?" "It's kind of what it sounds like. It's a Riverdale thing." I explained her. Everyone around us looked at Veronica. "No, Kat, it's a slut-shaming thing and I'm neither a slut, nor am I gonna be shamed by someone named-Excuse me? -Chuck Claton. Does he think he can get away with this? Does he not know who I am? I will cut the brakes on his souped-up phallic symbol."

Betty was the good girl as always. "Or we can go to Principal Weatherbee." "About the coach's son. Who is captain of the football team and Riverdale High's golden boy?" "And / or I can expose him in the Blue and Gold. I can do that." I looked at Betty. "Seriously? That is your only idea? " Veronica was mad at Chuck and just replied, "Spoken like a true good girl who always follows the rules." She aggressively gave me my Handy back and ran towards the Bulldogs locker room.

"Well, I don't follow rules. I make them. And when necessary, I break them. You wanna help me get revenge on Chuck? Awesome. But you better be willing to go full dark, no stars. What do you say, in or out?"

Kevin looked at me overwhelmed. "I'll go after them so that nobody dies!" I caught up with them just before they were infront of the door of the boys locker room.

Veronica pulled Betty by the hand with her in the locker room. Betty held her hand in front of her face while Veronica just walked straight to Chuck. Archie looked at us in shock as we passed him but Veronica pushed him away. Chuck was talking to Moose when we got to him. Chuck turned to us. "Oh, B and V and K. Menage a right on. Ladies." Veronica held her cell phone up to Chuck's face. "This is disgusting. Take it down." Chuck laughed at her. "Whoa. Whoa, why are you so wound up? It's a badge of honor. And you're not exactly virgin territory after your closet date with Andrews." I saw Reggie laughing behind him, he stopped when I looked angry at him. "Okay, that's beyond irrelevant, Chuck. You're not allowed to go around humiliating girls for any reason under any circumstances, jerk." Betty said pissed. "I get you're not a closet kind of girl, but hey, if you wanna ride the Chuck Wagon that can be arranged." God can he please die. "Don't talk to my sister like that asshole." Veronica was just as disgusted as I was. "Let's keep this simple so that your preppy murderer half brain can grasp it. Take this the hell down." "Okay, that high-toned bitch attitude may have worked on the betas you dated in New York, but you're in Bulldog territory. But please, fight back. You'll only make it harder on yourself." he said before walking past us. In rage, Veronica left the locker room, Betty and I followed her to the outside.
